Thanks Guys. I hope to keep the progress reports coming - these things are never finished as they were not production cars.

I just tried the car with a change from full soft on the rear ARB to 1/4 turn harder and I am amazed how much more darty the front felt and much less roll on the back, once I have the spring rates roughly right I will get Jonfoc to look at the rear Shox and then over to gravity force or Dave wedge

Sounds good mate. I'm going bladed on mine. I'm back in at Leda next month so I can get a wriggle on when you're ready.

Yes mate. I'll let you know when I'm in. I'll draw them up and get the ball rolling. Then when you get weights we can valve accordingly

I sent my old cam cover off to Mark at MK to do a cam trigger mod so I can ditch the distributor, I will now send the cover off to Mick at Spraystation to do a full refurb in red before fitting. You can see the plug for the dizzy, the bolts for the coil packs and he welded up a bodged breather (deleted the old hole) and fitted a new one in a better place.
New breather and cam trigger
Coil pack bolts on to head of bolt that holds down the cam cover
These are the bolts for the cam cover, Mark also makes them for the other height of coil pack, neat idea
Here you can see the top where you put the bolt in to secure the coil pack

I actually don't know as I paid for bits as a whole. I know he made a set for me and then had to start again as I needed shorter as my turrets where the coil pack needed to be made shorter so he probably has a set of 4 left over. They are stainless steel.

Hi mate, I am thinking I will get the cam cover refurbed first and then find out if Mark Shead will want to finish the job off and remap the car as it needs an update for the intercooler, hart inlet and exhaust mods. I will either send the bits to MK to do unless Mark has a source, I don't fancy doing those bits myself.

The editor of PPC practical performance mag got in touch saying they want to do an article on my car which is nice, I will give them the max power mag with it in and see if they will do a sort of homage to that.

Just tried out a 215/45/16 Yokohama track tyre on my 8x16 et28 new rims, they fit and fill the arches well but look a little too big, I am now trying a 205/45/16 on same rim....all this experimentation gets expensive with special order tyres but my local tyre shop is looking after me.

I have struggled to find 215/40, just trying a 205/45. It amazes me how you can see the larger diameter over 195/45, I know it should being 45%of 10 cm but it is very obvious.

Today I made a start on the electric conversion for the power steering. I need more space between the radiator and engine to add a second fan as in the summer the little 205 radiator with one little fan struggled when I was in traffic and I want to make sure the cooling is fool proof, especially if I add more power.
I am using a saxo / 106 pug unit as it is small ish and doesn't weigh any more than the Ford pump and bracket. I made up an anti vinbration mount to mount it to the inner wing above the chassis leg.
After removing the pas pump I can now see loads of room for the extra fan, I may even get a thicker rad in there, spoox motorsport make a 60mm one with slimline fans, if that fits I will be very happy.
Tomorrow I will whizz in to pirtek and get them to make me up the pressure hose.
Long term I will need a bespoke reservoir bottle.

I don't think I have room under the dash for the electric system, the 205 is tiny under there....it has crossed my mind many times though OR just go for a manual rack, most of the early 205s didn't have power steering and mine doesn't weigh that much more but does have a bit wider rubber.

Yes Mark, that might happen along with Wrc top mounts on the front.

Just got back from pirtek where they made me up new hoses and silver soldered on to the cossie ends, Ł90 all done for both...happy with that. Will do some pics later

Made these brackets to hold the pump to the car with an anti vibration bung in between
Trial fitted for space but I need to move the reservoir
This is the pirtek pressure side
Bracket I made bolts on to the motor using the bolts that hold the motor to the pump
Another angle of the bracket on the pump
Anti vibration bit in place and wrapped the pump in rubber. When this bolts to the car it all lines up square.

Thanks, my 205 only runs 215 rubber which is not that much wider than a saxo vts at 195 so it would only be down to the rack being different. I will soon see if it works or not.

Moved the reservoir back so had to weld up a 90 degree bend so made a simple mount off the 90 to hold it to the bulkhead.
It’s at an angle in the pic as the jar is jacked up on one side.
Reservoir on 90 and then back to supply the pump
Pressure and return both on and all now pointing in same direction and tight

Just the wiring to sort and then fill it, bleed it and see if it works.
If all is ok then I can measure up for the extra cooling fan.

That's useful to know as I was going to order a 30 amp relay, will bump that up and get a 40 amp setup then.
