Default rs6 c5 avant rebuild

came away from.the ford scene years back after I sold my saph cosworth, life got in the way of cars but I was offered this 2003 rs6 avant of a good customer cheap so decided to buy it and do a rebuild as I've all ways loved them, I'll get some pics up but general plan is a full engine overhaul and gearbox refurb! hope you all enjoy.

con rod bols are 18 pound each and have 16 of those lol but I purchased another engine with a damaged valve as there is nothing available new like crank shaft, and no one makes oversize bearings or pistons.

There's a guy over in America with one of these, he got it minus the engine/box and ended up putting a manual conversion in it with an american v8 and rear mounted turbos. Last I saw it was on the dyno and he did some track days.

Good cars but the auto box and suspension would have to be changed out for me to own one long term.

suspension is all ready sitting on full blistein setup, manual conversion is quite straight forward too.

I went out in one years ago that had been tuned by mrc to take it over 1k torque, it had issues with the box when I was taken out in it and it was ok but weight didn't help with the auto box.

The sound made up for it though

just looking into that otion now tte can rebuild standards to stage 2 which are proven for 650bhp, and not overly expensive. anything else requires new manifolds really. but I think I'd be happy at 650. all though the manual gearbox gives so much more space to play with people are running twin gt30 which are good for 1000bhp

Twin gt30s are a good call
You've got a massive motor even gt35s should be responsive on there, it's a 5.2 isn't it v10 ?
