Right spent a good load of hours on the car now getting the engine out, along with all teh cleaning and stripping that goes with it.

I decided not to strip the bay completely as all the brake lines and abs unit, master cylinder etc are in perfect order so didnt want to cause myself anymore work than was needed, plus the car is now completely rust free. Ive put all the bits in a box that are going to the powder coaters tomorrow, like my strut brace, bailey breather tank and header tank, swirl pot etc all to be done satin black to go with my new colour scheme,

I then set to finishing off what needed painting on the car, i done the underside of the bonnet as it was pretty ropey before, i am on the look out for a 4x4 bonnet but just wanted to tidy this one up for now, i also gave the side skirts a fresh coat as they where chipped etc in places,

Bit of an update, ive removed all the masking etc from under the bonnet and started to piece it all back together. i started off with cleaning all the wiring and placing it back within some nice new clips etc, ive also removed the head and replaced the head gasket with a fresh new one.

Replaced the clutch with an alcon 6 paddle, i then cleaned and painted the block in hammered black and refitted the lump to the car, gave my inlet a few coats of black aswell, the other parts are being powder coated and i think that they will freshen up the bay even more and i will update when they come back,

Little update for people who are keeping an eye on th thread, i recieved the ally side skirt clips from cdf today so i set to fitting them this evening,

I waxoyl'd the area before pushing the clips over as the sealer etc ive used has thickend up the lip they mount to, so any that has been pushed off will be protected by the waxoyl,

Name: IMG_0006.jpg
Views: 185
Size: 148.9 KB

I moved one of the clips along as you can see in the pic to try and get rid of the kinking in the side skirt, i assume this has happened due to the skirts not having clips on for a good while and they have gone out of shape, so ive done my best to sort it,

Had a drive to the powder coaters today to collect my engine bay bits. Started to fit the header tank and breather bottle, also fitted the sturt brace, well put it in place till i take the cam cover back off to paint it.

Just need to do my intercooler and wait for my vernier pulleys to arrive then i can start doing a bit more, also fitted my front arch liners and painted the bonnet catch mechanism, its coming along nicely now soon be able to bring it back home

Got a present of my brother this morning, was all my silicone hoses for the car was chuffed, i still hate him though ,

Anyway i started off today by buying all the new clips for the hoses plus some paint etc to do my front shocks.

Also mocked up the oil cooler in its new postition bolted in this time not snap tied in place like how i found it!, i also moved the mocal filter housing round as it was trapping the outlets between the engine mount and block im surprised it didnt leak, but all is sorted now.

My brother cleaned and prepped my rad and intercooler then we painted them black to go with the colour scheme,

Ive also ordered new alt and power steering belts, black vernier cam pulleys and a few other odds and sodds, will hopefully try and have it running again soon and back home in the garage for the winter.

standard 205 with a gt30? how does that work? lag lag lag then boost then limiter?

ive been told not to use one because id need to run 1.8-2.2 bar on one to get the best from it, and at that boost will be way over 400bhp

No its not as you describe at all, yes it does have slightly more lag than the T35 i had but its still a great turbo, plus if your gonna use a GT30 your looking for 400+ anyway otherwise ther's no point buying a bigish turbo,

Little bit of an update, i spent yesterday repainting and rebuilding my front shocks and then installing them onto the car, i also refitted the rad and intercooler, plus a few other bits. Car is coming back home next sat by trailer even if its not finished, i can then just tinker with it in the garage at home, will only be small bits to do i hope!, will try and have it running whilst it up in the air as its easier to work on if there's any leaks etc,
