Never seen paint stripped like that before, if I'd have done it I would have scratched the life out of the bodywork with the blade.
Nice to see it moving forwards now.

So how much is this costing you Martin to put right. Labour charges on stripping a car with a stanley blade must be horrendous

That's the thing... The paint fell off and has actually saved a bit of time, he's sanded all the primer off now too.

No chemicals or sand paper, he used a stanley blade and peeled it!!!

Sheets of peeled paint......

If I see any sand paper on my invoice there will be trouble, hahahahahah! Bet I get charged for a ton of stanley blades, lol.

Not sure tbh, the paint just hasn't adhered to the primer. I would have thought Glasurit would want one of the peeled off sheets to analyse.....

The paint job has more than one problem, the peeling paint AND water between the first coat of primer and the bare metal. I have photographic proof of this and its clear to see, the metalwork even had minute rust dots where the water was trapped.

Fucking hell, Ive seen better adhesion from an aerosol can!

How the hell can anyone get paint to manage not to stick on the car at all like that! Tat cant be easy to achieve, he must use some secret recipe primer that contains teflon!

Or he genuinly had a problem!!

I can not see that somebody that paints cars for a living can go from being good to making a catasrophic fuck up over night with out realising so like Martin said l am sure the paint company would love to see the sample to help determine what went wrong with this,

Atleast it is getting sorted now and Jacko has offered to sort Martin out,

Or it might be a problem with the paint not the workmanship?

Yes mate, fair point, it could be the paint he choose to use not the primer he choose to use that caused the problem, or the way he put it on.

Wasnt trying to give a definitive answer as to why its such a shockingly ameteur job, was just genuinely surprised at it coming off like that, ive seen some fucking bad paintjobs over the years ive been into modified cars, but NOTHING that comes close to this one!

Its just problem after problem after problem, and for the final straw to be that the paint isnt even attached to the car, really is shocking.
its a fucking good job martin wasnt happy with the finnish as blatantly the first time that stone chipped at a later date it would have been peeling off when the water got in behind it if martin had left it on the car and it would have been a nightmare for him at that stage as he would have had to strip the car all over again.

Just read had a catch up on the thread, sorry to hear what happened Martin

I think some of the bad mouthing is slightly out of order as it's as clear as day their is an issue with the products, i have heard for ages how good Jacko's workmanship is, as have loads of members on here so it's a little unfair to slate him. Problems happen at work, we've all had them

As a complete neutral reading this thread that is how i did see this, its clear that Jacko had problems with the materials used and lets face it of all the jobs this one must of got some proper attention, just a shame some people jumped on the hater bandwagon and stuck the knife in him so to speak.
