Yep i can confirm the towing hook is welded on as i was holding it at the time of the first tack weld .....lol, trial fitted the bumper with the towing hook and it looks spot on .
Seems i spend more time at spec-r than i do at my own work .

Big up to pete for all his hard work throughout this year , and his dedication to his work is 2nd to none , even if going over board with his fickleness at times .

Top bloke and all the best to him in the year ahead .....

Might even get to meet you one day Rod as ive seen enough of your car over the last few months .....lol

Im not sure if i have the bottle to do a 208 my best of 201.3 had me shaking like a leaf for 20 minutes, I wont risk my health but at the mo i intend having a bash.

Let him do whatever he thinks he can after a few runs

Wont be much to report untill this weather goes completely.
So lets have a look at whats in store, Mark heard a misfire on this aborted run its in the Vid section it scares me just looking at it.
We will have around 100 horses more, think the vid shows just how fast it will be. Thats 187 before halfway, dont think i can handle that much Power & im not ashamed to admit it.

Well mine might be just about done then so we can compare turbos, ill be running the t6 rear end though, be cool to have a race against each other, ill be light(hopefully just under 1200kg) but you will have 100bhp more, depends which magazine covers it i suppose though

That was the first run using Nitrous 'push' & was some time back now but was packing about 900bhp that day.
Their is a right turn at the half way point down Brunters so Mark still had over 3/4 mile to acclerate, dread to think what the record would be if he had not thought he heard a misfire. 212+ I estimate.

rod do you know how much distance you actually travel on a run, i know the total length of the straight is 2miles but how much of that do you use, ie how much of it is full throttle about 1.6-1.7 of it?

The total length of Brunters is 1.7miles its a few years since it was 2miles theres now a car park at the bottom.
Mark likes to be able to stop before the tyre wall & enter the bend at the finish at a Leisurely speed, guess we get about 1.5miles ish on full throttle.

Thats a long time on full throttle when you sit back and think about it. 1.5 miles is quite a long way. Go for a drive and stop when you have done 1.5 miles and then imagine a poor old yb engine at full chat for that distance. Good jobMark knows what he is doing

On the other hand rich, although its a long way, its not a massively long time, less than 30 seconds for rod's car I expect, and some of that is changing gear so the engine gets a tiny bit of respite on the way where its not under full load.

Still far more than long enough to melt if anything is wrong though of course!

That was February 11th 2006, the penultimate run before the block let go. I was just past the right turn with Cossie Helen filming the runs. The final run sounded absolutely awsome. If the block had not let go on that last run I recon 213-214 was on, it was fooking flying!!
