cool as stav, that bumper looks good, but gettin a colour match is gonna be a cunt lol

you could sort that bumper by making up some metal framework and bolt it in to pull it into place, but as its more than likely to get twatted off again, it will only get fucked up soon

Yeah, main thing is its straight rather than twisted 45deg when not on the car like the current one!

Would be good to somehow straighten the old one, im sure someone said to weigh it down to force it straight, then leave it in the sun? Worth a go I guess!

And im sending the filler cap off mon/tues to get a colour match, so see how close they get it!
It dont have to be perfect, its a drift car, and the more the paint gets fucked the less im reluctant to put graphics over my pretty glittery paint, so its win-win, lol.

i dont think the resin will soften in the sun then reset. you mix it with an activator and it goes off untill hard, it heats itself up a lot lol

the only way your gonna make it straight is cut it at som points allowing it to flex, then using something else to keep it in that place

obv i dunno what its like off the car as i aint seen it, but you prolly could brace it somehow to pull it into shape.

you can re shape your bumper.. you need to make a frame for it to sit in - straight and then if you know someone with a spray booth stick it in there on bake at 80c for half an hour.. job done, done it loads of times and it does work very well..

Right then...

As ive always been used to really stupid power (and lighter!) cars, 400bhp is too slow to me, even everyone else thats been in it thinks its fast as frick, but ill change that shortly to power im much happier with...

Also gathering the rest of the bits, got all the fuel system barring 800cc injectors and a bigger rail, so nearly ready to get it all on there.
Also need to swap flanges on the wastegate join on the manifold to a different shape one (have new flanges), and get some turbo braces/hangers to help stop the usual cracked manifold tears.
Gonna wrap the manifold and use a turbo blanket too, to keep the response as good as poss.

Ive seen people making 575bhp on stock engines running a GT35 at 1.5bar, so I should be able to see at least that with mine at the same boost, considering ive got HKS cams and a turbo approx GT40 size (and one thats more efficient at higher boost than Garrett GTs), which is nice, as 400bhp per ton has always been enough to keep me entertained in the past, and should be more than that.

Back on more important things, ie getting the car ready for DWYB this wed, my new spacers have arrived to replace the fricked ones currently on the car...

Will be un-slow.

Tonight and tomorrow night, in the dark, i need to fit the new spacers, change my wheels, bleed the hydraulic handbrake, load up the car, and some other shit too.
then off drifting again on wed.

My Chaser has made it in to the latest issue of Performance BMW actually Page 56 at the bottom, maybe they thought it was a 5 series

Love that compressor housing, fucking quality

You going to be coming up with some sort of turbo hanger, cause I wouldnt like to trust that manifold with that much weight.

A GT40 sized turbo (that are well renowned for spooling far faster than similar sized Garretts) and 2.6litres to spool it up? Not really.

And hangers are all in hand...

Yeah, divided job which will help a lil bit.
And very heavy for its size too, Holset seem to like to use some fucking bastard chunky metal for the housings, which i guess is why they got a rep for being very strong.

Right, been out in the dark and cold and rain for the last 4 hours, getting hailed on like a muthafucker, but I got some shit done...

Changed wheels, and now rocking some shite 16in Kei Office Tsuchiyas on the front, and some 17in AVSs with a really sucky offset that looks stupid (well, like most cossie wheels offset, ie all gay and miles in) on the back.
Bringing along another pair of the Kei Office rims and some slightly less gay offset pair of AVSs too. Hopefully between them lot and whatever are for sale at the Pod ill be ok and be legal(ish) to get home.

Changed to the new spacers, fucking FAR better quality and fit than the JDM shite that was on it previously, good old German stuff, TUV approval means there no choise but make em mint, and they were.

Bled the handbrake, some fucking BIG bubbles came out, and I hope that was trapped air and not because me or my old man fucked up and it was sucking air thru as it ran empty!
Not had time to drive it to check, but ill take some fluid and a bleeder with me n do some more at Pod if it still sucks ass.

Swapped position of the wand from vertical to horisontal too, to get more leverage, so hope it helps. Big close to the stick now, but dont look like it will get in the way, even in 4th, and im sure as fuck not up to the skills of wanding it in 4th yet anyhow.

Thats it really, just need to take it round the block tomorro to make sure all is well, load it all up, and fuck off Wed morning...

According to sheady, on the GT ones, a twinscroll 40 is as quick to spool as a normal 35

And I was on here for 10mins to check the best way to bleed the hydro wand, and to warm up a bit.

Update time...

Went drifting yesterday.

Loaded up car and drove slowly there, exhaust scraping and sparking on the ground constantly and got there about 10.

Started out on the middle sized track, was so much better with a decent hydaulic handbrake, made life far easier.
Was doing it in 2nd all the way round by the end of it, which isnt easy with my long gears as its so tight, but I was doing it.

By end of the day I went on to the big track, which is bananas fast and there 4 of you on there at once, and drifting chasing other cars is soooo much fun.
Its properly mental out there, so much so my mates brother damaged the passenger floor he was pushing his imaginary brake pedal so hard, lol

All in all it was awesome, and had a few people saying I should enter BDC, which I wanna do (in Am), but not yet, want at least 1 other praccy day 1st.

Bumpers flew off and were damaged, sides of car have tyre marks up em from delaminating tyres, but the car drove there, was awesome, and drove back, good times.

One thing I found out was my car has a properly bananas amount of steering lock. It felt like it did, but this accidental pic shows it

Of course it has mate, most cars, even pro drift cars, cant even get anywhere near as much lock as that even when modified loads and loads.

Ive no idea what they have done, but fair play to whoever did it.

That EscCos is a dyno proven 451bhp too, and considering I was massivley weighed down with wheels and tyres and whatnot, im guessing my car is pretty quick afterall, lol.

Wish idve actually went for it from the start rather than deciding to go after em once I saw him boot it now

Awesome pics Stav, looks real good actually out on the track, instead of in JDM's garage where i last saw it. Both me and Dave Vanstone (from JDM) are loving the Scania housing. Top quality images.
