Greg- Indeed Saw a massive one on a truck earlier
Not sorted tyres yet, spent most the day driving the Yaris to Shonkys then getting back home.
Went in his 997 Turbo tho, which was nice.

Rad- Umm, kind of hard to get better pics than I got, door/dash/etc in the way.
Good nick tho, no rips etc.

Think ive sorted out new wheels and rollcage today, huzzah, more info coming soonish...

Pointless tho, the 1JZ engine they come with as standard is just as good as an RB26, and the easy swap, the 2JZ engine, is WAY better, so anyone in their right mind would just do that!
Just some crazy fool decided to RB26 this one...
Not disputing that the RB26 isn't as good. But can you explain why? Genuinly interested to know why.

Is or isnt as good as what engine? 1JZ its about as capable.

2JZ is miles better though, nearly half a litre bigger so way more torque and turbo spooling ability, and can do 1000bhp or so on stock internals if you push it, thing is massivley stronger.

Yep, its GOT to be done, been some great designs peoples done, but IMO nothing has touched the laydeee one, tasteless and tacky, like me, and covered in ladies, like me

Anyhow, I dunno if I mentioned it but the bonnet pins were missing/fooked when I got the car, and it has no bonnet catch, so I had to gaffa tape the bonnet shut to drive the bugger home!

Anyhow, a quick call to the Driftworks ( www.driftworks.com ) shop got me a replacment set of pins in double quick time, and at 7quid you cant lose :worthy:
Tell you what, its foookin mint having a 1-stop drifting shop, beforehand it was the usual trawling round places like Rally Design and various tuners to get the bits you want, but DW there no need, makes life a lot less stressful, esp when you got no time to time to ring and search around.

Anyhow, here they are...

Slight update...

Im guessing whoever invented bonnet pins had the design identically copied by all the countless companies worldwide who make em, as though mine were some random ones from Japan, and these are some random ones from the UK, the bolt hole spacing is IDENTICAL, making fitting them a whole fuckload easier.

Happy days

No pics today as I cant be fucked, but more progress.

Side repeaters fitted were BMW ones, but no wires going to them for some reason, and no bulbs or buld holder either.

So today went and stole some from the scrapyard, made a new loom for em, plugged em in where they originally went, and err, nothing. :smash:

So went down and robbed a set from a scrap celica, and plugged them in, and they work!

Fuck knows why BMW ones dont tho.

Thing is, the indicators are still flashing fast though, even though all 6 indicators are now flashing? Not MEGA fast, but faster than they should.
Pressing the hazard switch makes them all flash slower.

Any ideas?

Yes mate, lights on the dash work

Right, small update today...

Went n got 2 legal rear tyres fitted that I had spare. Needs some legal fronts now too

Rear tyres are 9x17 ET38, and sit slightly proud of the rear arches with the 225s giving just enough stretch to keep the tread under the arches.
Its official, stock JZX81 rear arches are GAY.

Fitted some front indicators in the bumper today, hopefully to make the flasher speed go down to normal.
Went to the scrappy and aquired a pair of nice looking Rover 620 side repeaters for a princely sum of 1 pound, fitted them, and...
No change, still flash too fast. Tho are normal when press hazard button.
fuck it, should still pass MOT.

Headlights are strange too, side lights are normal, main beam is normal, put on full beam and main beam changes colour (maybe brighter too, hard to tell).
BUT the inner most lights do nothing regardless, but dunno when they are meant to go on, and dunno if its an MOT fail, considering it seems to have side/main/full beam even without em.

And, err, thats it really.

u need to look at a normal chaser if u can mate get all the standard side repeaters and indicators in there

i no when u convert mk4 escorts to quads lights and remove the front indicators u have to keep the large bulbs from the indicators in and hide then and link ur new front indicators off ur side repeaters so u got 8 indicators lol just cant see 2

think it all relates to the amount of watts in yours system if u put 10w fronts in and ur ment to have 20's it'll flash faster, try different wattage bulbs in ur side repeaters

yep, it goes on the resistance of the bulb/current drawn, if not enough current is drawn, the relay thinks a bulb has blown and speeds up as a warning. do it the pikey way and hide some extra bulbs in parallel to another indicator bulb somewhere

Im fucking skint so not much is going on right now, but worked out how to get the inner lights working, i didnt notice the switch

They yellow too!

Headlights are greenish on one beam, blueish on another too, can tell it was a drift car cant you

Mental graphics have evolved in to another idea a mate had now, and its mental/random as fuck, so im feeling it...

Jap drift cars always have random english names that makes little or no sense, so...

The Trust induction kit on my Chaser was properly filthy, and when I put it in the sink the sponge literally disintergrated, so another one was needed, a GTR one of course as its packing a RB26 motor...

Being dissapointed with the price/quality of the Jap made ones and the lack of UK made setups, I was suprised to notice Forge Motorsport did a nice looking one, so I gave big Pete a bell and ordered it, and it just arrived

Awesome welding on the filter elbows, and as a trick thing, the bolts are invisible from the top side, giving a nice smooth look.

Im skint at mo, so even the 200 odd quid i need to tax/mot/register it is beyond my means

Right, today I went to fit this Forge Motorsport Skyline GTR Induction Kit...

Name: IMG_6716.jpg
Views: 110
Size: 169.3 KB

My worry was as they big ass filters and meant for a Skyline GTR not a Chaser, theyd not fit.

And i was VERY right

Miles too big to fit normally, and tried all kinds of ways, inc fitting the front turbos filter down the front of the engine (which like all the other ways, didnt work), and was getting WELL angry because of it

BUT in the end we worked out that if i cut one of the inlet pipes shorter and relocate that AFM, it fits just mint!

So we went from this...

To this...
