Hi Adam, the floor isn’t finished in the pictures. I guess some weight is "good weight" a bit like the cage?

He didn’t charge me anything like £30-40k but he will no doubt remind me that he should have done. I expect it would have been north of 40k with some of the big firms, especially when you consider all the bits it had already.

engine just needs Mr Shead to have a quick look over but yes, it is ready for the map to be tweaked to suit the new spec stroker and then we will stick the bigger efr on it. Engine made over 700 bhp when it was dynoed before but I am using a smaller turbo.

undecided, either the above or go for 630 and max out the next efr up. Most likely 500 for now...if the back pressure on the turbo is not too high it should come on boost like an electric car takes off.

Have you looked at some plots mate to see losses to the left and gains to the right for the 630 setup ?
Must be loads on marks page dyno plots to look at, which turbos you looking at ? IL go take a look pal once I know the turbos your considering and see what I can find for ya 👍👍

I always find these dyno graphs of a turbo engine difficult to interpret. On the dyno the load must be different than on the road, so it turbo might spool sooner or later on the road. So perhaps full boost for the 7064 can already be at 3500 on the road (also depending on which gear of course).

On the road in 3rd gear my T34.48 makes full boost at 3600-3700 rpm. No idea how comparable that would be to the 7064 for instance, as comparing this graph to the dyno seems incorrect to me.

On a dyno dynamics in shootout mode the load (ramp rate) is always the same which makes the results comparable

It will be different on the road depending what gear your in but for making comparisons you need comparable data and there are no data logs from cars on the road to compare all the different turbos hence why all one can do is use comparable dyno runs

Mark Shead was concerned that the 7064 that I currently have might not be able to hold 500 bhp on the stroker in the higher revs. Thanks for posting the plots. 7670 Is the alternative for me...much bigger won’t fit and is not needed for me.

it seems a shame not to make the most of the engine spec, the 7670 would do that imo. We expect the cams to be a bit more specced to higher revs.

Are you going on solids so can rev higher ? I guess you gotta weigh up what you want mate

I only had a quick look for plots but if those I found are comparable then there's 1000 rpm to be lost in spool to gain 100 of hp

To be honest I have forgotten the full spec of the engine but I am pretty sure it was built to be safe to 8000 but will not go near there as the stroker is not really suited

yes, not cheap. What engine do you plan on using? There are some nice modern engines about. I like the idea of a nice, normally aspirated engine.

i also fancy doing an Ultima with a big crate Engine.
