Funnily enough I thought to myself that I had better get it back in the garage and finish it. I have a KO4 turbo to try.

I know I said no update pics but here are a few teasers to show general direction the build will follow. I will do a full dry build set when it is back.
Still not decided to stay red red or go t16 white with rally colours. Underside will be stripped and painted body colour too.

Pics look good! Im really looking forward to seeing the full build!
I noticed you are going to run the rear WRC cradle. I never paid much attention to it, but the bump steer on that might actually be worse than on a 6 degree beam. Fixing it would be quite simple though. I really cant understand how Ford got it that wrong on the WRC.

Maybe. I cant really see it clearly from the pic, but I would say this will also give bump steer. It looks like there is more distance between the arms at the cradle than at the knuckle.
In my opinion the 2 arms towards the diff should run exactly parallel in order to not have bump steer. The arm that goes to the front moves the wheel forwards and backwards over the suspension travel. If the 2 arms towards the diff are not parallel they will push the wheel to toe in when the wheel goes backwards and toe out when the wheel moves forward.

I understand what you are saying. I trust this to be the best design I can get in there. I will have the geo professionally set up and people like Dave Wedge or gravity force can make suggestions before it is all painted. I think these are tried and tested but I will leave that to the experts.

The gear change will have an Audi TT surround but the hole will be cut to suit my oppliger box. Obviously it will all be welded soon. Pics like this make up for (some) of the wait but also makes me keen to get it back and enjoy driving the wheels off it. My wife has now asked for the seat on runners as she will also drive it (on track too)

They are 3 way adjustable black art design with adjustable camber on Wrc fixed top mounts. I have bladed Wrc style anti roll bars so nicely adjustable (the blades have been on the car already and had a good level of adjustability) I like my cars to be fairly softly sprung with a bit of weight transfer and body roll, I find them a bit more forgiving. I do not aim to build the fastest road or track car, just entertaining and playful.
although it is short wheelbase I always found the car to be very controllable on the brakes and throttle so hope it will keep that. The wheel at each extreme corner design of the 205 always helped with that.
when it was rear wheel drive on the skyline ‘box I found it very easy to slide around and not at all twitchy.
