i was not suggesting bespoke geo.

save for going double A arm it was the best I could afford. Double a arm was over 10k more so the cradle is the best I could spec and the t45 saves a load of weight.

of all the builds on here I have not seen much better than a cradle setup.
The original wrc cradle does have a removable bar to take the diff out 👍

I’ve spent the last 2 years saving buying and doing up my house. Sierra has taken a back seat for me. Also there’s been a wait for Mark as he is a very busy man and the long studs that are going in my engine have taken a while to be made. I’ve always made it clear to Mark I’m in no real rush. Obviously it is very expensive doing what I want. I don’t ever want to take mine apart again so if Mark says it’s best to do such and such I will do it. I had a chat with mark this week funny enough. I’ve said it a few times now and it’s not happened but this time I’m aiming for it happening. 2020 is the year the car will be mot’ed I’ll not say it will be finished or mapped on full power but I’m 100% aiming for mot’ed. Soon I will renew my gold membership and put my old diff and gearbox up for sale as Mark is pretty much ready to build my engine in the next month or so.

Nice but tbh I'd be doing it how I wanted it not how somebody else thinks it should look it's what makes the cars unique to us imo

I do love the race livery and I flip between both that and staying red, at the moment it’s staying red.

My car actually left the factory as a van, the only difference was no rear trim or seats and the back windows had sheet metal glued in, I took them out and put glass in when I bought it.

I would do exactly what you said, hold back on any updates until it’s done.
People are naturally gonna keep asking about it because the goal posts keep being moved as to when it’s getting finished.
I know it doesn’t bother you how long it takes but the you say your going to get it at the end of sept even if it’s not finished then not doing that shows your not serious, don’t say anything at all.
Like the seat fitting you say is happening each month, don’t mention dates or times as we all know the guys telling you rubbish, it just makes you look bad telling everyone, next week, next month, etc etc etc

Cheers Paul

I was following Trevs advice by not posting updates but....

Floor was spot welded in this week and I got Mark to make me a new gear surround as the planned TT one looked terrible. He has made a nice billet top to match the suspension turret tops.

don’t stop posting on it.
this thread is genuinely one of the only reasons I check in to pf, I’ve kinda of lost the love for cars at the mo, got no time for anything to do with them and don’t have one of my own at the mo, but still really interested in yours.
who cares if others think it’s taking too long or marks taking the piss.
mots nothing to do with them.
mines been off the road 8years now, and I just don’t have time to go and look at it.
I just need to drag it out the garage and get a list of parts/work needed to fix it.
every year I say, this year... 😂

The gear selector taking shape.

Floor welded

I love the uniform spot welds. I will get the body shop to use the tiniest and neatest seam sealer.

One of my best mates who has done thousands of miles with me on track as we have shared many track cars asked if we would take it on a track day or if all the money poured in to the car would stop me using it, I asked him what he though and he said "track the shit out of it" and I had to agree that it will now have as much hard use as I can give it.

Sorry it does, Toby gets asked on regular ‘how’s it coming on, any pics or updates etc etc’
he then answer’s ‘going for the seat fitting next week etc’ or ‘floor should be done soon etc etc’ or something along those lines, then weeks later said things are still not done, then he’s says of the cars not done by xxxx time I’m going to collect the car and be done with him, that time comes and go’s and the cars still there.
My point is is he’s happy with that then don’t say all the previous comments or it just makes you look a bit silly

I was merely saying don’t say stuff your not gonna stand by or say things that you know deep down just ain’t gonna happen, that’s all.
I never said don’t post any updates.

I don’t keep going in about it, I’ve barely commented in any of this thread.
its his thread so of course he can say and post what he wants on it.
And as for me taking the piss that’s a bit excessive.
I made a ‘funny’ tongue in cheek comment and now your saying your gonna possibly ban me for it!?
Seriously!?
So banter and jokes on pf are a no no these days now?
ive been contributing to this forum for years, more than most on here these days and I’ve never said anything to warrant even coming near being banned!!

No need to ban me, I won’t comment on any of Tobys threads or posts going forward as well as some others in here.
Clearly my face doesn’t fit here anymore and it’s the same old pf story as usual.
Shame as it used to be a good forum.

question for anyone in the know how do you get on with the floor being spot welded in as if you put a patch in for mot it would need seam welding.
ive seen most done like this and always wondered.

I think he means that mot always look for a seam weld for any repairs so why don’t my floors need seam welding?
