Hi Jay, yes the deadline was back by end 2018. The Fiesta in front of me has had some extra stuff but is supposed to be going out soon. I am promised mine will then be finished but I doubt I will be getting the call for my seat fitting before Santa comes. I really hoped to be bolting it together over the Xmas break and I don’t mean 2019 Xmas.

The man is a lying twat. It’s cost me again today to get more adjusters machined. He needs to be shut down.
Anyone getting involved with MK Motorsport is on a road to lies and disappointment

I then need to do a dry build up to make sure everything does what I need before total strip again and then going off for paint which will be engine bay, interior and probably underside too.

So if we assume a few weeks to build and strip (working Friday, Sat and Sun on it) probably the odd holiday then paint time I am thinking it will be 5 months or more before Mark can map the final car and do the final suspension setup.

I will be updating the thread with progress updates and then hope I do not have to spend too long on the rebuild as I want to be driving it in 2018! In the mean time I have got all the wiring to sort out and get the engine how I want it.
So that all went out of the window then, hopefully it will get done by the end of the year.

Yes, not happy about how nearly a whole year has gone by. I was supposed to take it to an important (to me) show in August. I have so much to do once it is back and I just want to enjoy it.

How are your projects coming on, Martin? Is the Lambo going well?, I keep following the evo one at 250,000 hard miles.

I am pleased with what has been done, just annoyed at the over run on timescale. Mark knows this and is very apologetic.

I know it will be finished and as soon as the Fiesta goes out I will be all over it like a rash and making a pain in the Arse of myself.

Wondering what people would advise for under floor and then the actual inside floor wells. I am thinking of the POR type products and having the car painted underside in Red and then maybe colour tinted Rhino liner in the foot wells for grip and protection and then maybe some trays with grip tape?

I like your style...reminds me of an old comedy sketch where a bloke gets two samples of deep shag pile carpet and then makes them in to slippers and doesn't bother with carpet in his house.

The weird thing is that I was thinking about what is left...its a paper thin Pug roof, and part of the rear floor, the arches are fibreglass, the boot is Carbon Kevlar, the Doors are Carbon Kevlar, Bonnet is Carbon Fibre, it had new Chassis legs in the early 90's and now the floor and bulkhead will be new (eventually) and then the cage holds it all together. The rest of the underside is WRC copy (ish) Ford. I think a crisp packet might weigh more.

last night I was in benihanna in Chelsea and got in at 8:00, 6 blokes in there being very loud and within 5 mins they were throwing punches at each other but so drunk I only saw one punch land very poorly lol the waiter said they had been there since lunchtime drinking. The waiters threw them out and they continued to brawl on the pavement.

i could have had some fun if I’d had my suit of armour on

I know what you mean, Martin. I think the Column and surround add to the hot rod look in that picture.

The pic was sent as a suggestion and the plan has always been to bead roll the floor and tunnel.

No, car has gone too extreme for that and I have given up on the idea of making it a car you could use every day, it was a silly idea as my normal 205 gti is hard work compared to modern stuff.

I will have sound deadening on the roof and alcantara, the floors will be rhino linered to cut sound and give some grip and the rest is planned as bare racer paint but I will possibly have some carpet sets trimmed like my friend has in a 993 RS club sport as he puts them in for trips to the ‘ring.

I didn’t want to track day the car before as the cage was crap and the shell would flex, now I do plan to take it to pod and also track days.

Swaged lines for me both in the tunnel and the floors with cross design , if you have large plates like that I know you will bend them very easily even if it 3 mm metal unless there's box section going underneath.

Thses are like mine but new lol

cheers paul

If it ends up not being done by the end of feb do you know of anyone else who would be able to finish it off to the level you want or would you have a go at doing it at home?

I am very confident that Mark will pull it out of the bag and not let me down. If he and Matthew get stuck in there is not actually that much for them to get it done.
