Lol, something like that! Smurf...... it's a borg Warner surf, they make big power.

It should be running next weekend. The carbon fibre bonnet arrived today. I can pick it up with two fingers in a pinch and it is as rigid as the metal one...it really is light. They do a boot lid too and saves over 20kg!

Function over form mate, the coating is on it for a reason not for asthetics

Good point. I can make it more subtle later and chances are I will go for the new range of borg warners in a yr or so anyway.

Stick with it get the car 100% right and running before you think of changing it. And it don't look to bad won't be to everyone's taste but never mind it will still do the job it's meant to

The outside will be painted body colour and the inside will be left gloss carbon. I will post up a pic, the outside is in high build primer already.

Thanks guys, I am really looking at vents. I think the best option might be Sierra cos vents like the Dimma cars used to have. Makes sense to cut them now before paint.

Something like those but they look back to front to me, I have fiesta and focus vents here but they dont match the bonnet lines. The Dimmas were Sierra ones. I like escort Cossies though.

They do look back to front looks like they will work better that way round though.

I'd use Sierra 1's if they were the 1's that they were using for that kit the right way round not back to front. Escort 1's will look to big for the bonnet & car.

I've seen someone use pug 206 vents in something before... I just can't remember what it was... looked quite subtle and cool.

Or maybe some carbon vents:

Leaving the vents in carbon and the bonnet painted.?

I really like the carbon vents and leaving them Carbon would be good. It is just finding them the right shape (probably square to suit the 90's design) and making sure they fit well as in properly located from beneath and not just glued in (ideally) I will do some googling.

I do like the Manta vents too but I think it might be too easy to cut one wrong and then scrap or have to try and repair an expensive bonnet.

I would probably look for some with a decent flange on the bottom, so you could epoxy them in from underneath

How much did it cost for your manifold and down pipe to be coated I'll be getting mine done when it's made

I got my inlet manifold, turbo hot side (snail) plus the exhaust, down pipe and hart inlet. It came to Ł830 inc vat, shipped back to me. I think manifold and down pipe was around Ł500. It gets less the more you have done.

I also mounted up the fuel rail today, bolted in down pipe and then made a nice bracket up to hold the clutch fluid cylinder. I also got all the water pipes back in and a few other little jobs.

I have trial mounted the pressure pump for the brakes and will weld up a bracket and anti vibration mounts on Sunday.

This bolts on to the original anti vibration bolt on the abs pump, only now the pump is remote from the brake master cylinder as I don't have room.

Here is the pump mounted on the front chassis leg. The heat proof sleeve protects the low pressure brake fluid supply. The convoluted tubing just stops anything rubbing the high pressure brake line back up to the master

Welded up and painted the bracket to hold the fluid pot for clutch snug to the brake.

The little hole mid way is to mount a 10mm bolt to hold a heat shield

Here you can see the heat shield bolt and how it all goes together. I need to add a dot 4 only sign as the tilton cannot use dot 5.

Heat shield in place to protect all hydraulics from the turbo. All the lines have heat sleeve too.

I have put a post on the 4x4 non abs but using abs pump thread but I need to know which one of these to delete and if there is a front or back brake preference?

2 are small and one is large. I think the bigger one may be the abs pump block but not sure
