lol, cheers for coming over today you lord!

hydro handbrake is now fitted. and the extra drilling was for the bulkhead fittings as the brake lines are run through the car.

got all the front brakes done, but didnt quite get the rears all plumbed in. front seats are now fitted. well, they have come back out again lol but i know they go in at least...

camcover and turbo hangar are on for good now.

so all we need is a few hours to finish off the rear brakes, and several weeks to do the wiring

only a little while since my last update then lol.

right, all the brakelines are fitted, i just need to fix the front and rear lines with some clamps etc to secure them in place

the hydro handbrake is plumbed in

pedal box (note the extra supports painted black)

lines to the rear of the car

and finally, i h ave been up till midnight 3 nights this week, after working late and have finished the engine wiring loom.

its one of ryans looms, but i needed to chop out some stuff that wasnt used, extend and shorten some stuff, and solder in the edis 4 module to the correct pins, which i only managed to find out where they went after finding the complete wiring loom from my old escort, that i thought id binned 4 years ago!

so thats all done now thank fook.

i still need a zetec alternator, and a lot of the small jobs left to do, like refit the main loom, and wire up a batt in the boot, and wire up all the guages etc...

but im moving house in 3 weeks, so again, finding time to do stuff is gonna be a pain in the ass!

well today i have upset the wife and spent pretty much all day on the 3dr lol.

got the main loom mostly back in the car, still need to get a batt and wire it up. bought a cutoff switch off ebay last night too. also need to wire the fan switch and fans up, as for some reason, i think i may have cut it out the main loom by accident lol

the bias pedal box is now bolted in properly, and all lines to it are secure. hyrdo handbrtake is fitted and lines, just need to make a small plate up for where it goes through the rear of the car, and tighten the fitting. still need to secure the rear brake lines.

made a plate up to mount the speed sensor for the stack dash and fitted it.

made a carbon plate to cover the heater blower holes, modded a coilpack bracket and bolted it in place.

ran the last few wires and secured them for the engine loom, but still need to make a map sensor bracket up and fit that properly. also need to buy and plumb in an amal valve too.

last night i found that after peevee was here last, he was trusted with fitting the cam cover... and he managed to fuck that up too . i noticed that it was still loose, even tho all bolted down... had to remove the turbo hangar, and got the cover off only to find that the rubber seals are not fitted int he cover.. so fuck knows where they have gone!!

looks like ill have to buy some more....

i also had a bloody clearout of the garage, and all the shit will be going to the tip tomoz lol

bit more done, still a load to go lol

another small update, the brake discs i bought on monday turned up today, so went out and trial fitted one.

luckily the brackets i had made didnt need a lot of adjustment, just a tad of reaming out with the drill lol, and a bit of extra spacing.

but all in all, 300mm st170 front discs are on the rear

and thats it lol

righto, rear brakes are all fitted and bled and seem to be binding, and trying to get the cunting car back in the arage took 4 of us to push it in, and my drive is on a failry steep slope down

also bled the front brakes, but it turns out that the spacca peevee failed to put copper washers on the T peice under bonnet so of course its now leaking... cunt!

got the clutch bled too, and nipped up the adj tcas and compresion struts ready for towing on thursday lol

couldnt mount the fluid reserviours where i intended, so they are now under the dash, not ideal, but its the only place i could fit them....

still need to fit the drivers seat and steering wheel ready for it to be towed, and sort out the the front brakes, hopefully tomoz...

and i almost got away with using 1 litre of brake fluid, but thanks to peevee, it looks like ill have to use a bit our the second bottle, so costing me antoher Ł14 as i could have took it back!

i also filled the rear diff with oil, but got the wrong stuff for the gearbox, so that will have to be exhanged...

the engine loom is all fitted into the car, and the main loom is now too. but i need to sort out the power wiring, and wiring for the fuel pump and rads fans, but that will have to wait.

i also bought an additional 2 stack guages, one for oil pressure, and one for water temp.

BIG thanks to my mate johnny today to the pedal pumping, and thanks to paul costina for dropping by and lending me some hole cutters

will try and get some pics tomoz

well, ive moved house now, and got the 3dr back here on sunday after a week on a mates driveway...

after getting the brakes on and bled, we had a small issue...

it took 4 of us to push the car back into the garage, and it slopes quite steeply down, so was obv a problem somewhere but id ran out of time for the move to check anything...

to strapped a towbar on thanks to paul, costina for lending me the solid bar, and my mate dragged it to his house. i thought the rear callipers were binding but it turned out that it was slightly more involved than that

id made a schoolboy error in my rush to get them on, and incorrectly measured the ammount of spacers needed, so the inside edge of the calliper bolt lugs and edge of the calliper were touching the disc and jamming it on.

got the car back sunday, and the missus went out, so i spent the afternoon with the file/grinder and dremmel sorting them out. had to dran the rears and remove the callipers again, but they are now back on and free running. just need to relocate the reservoiurs and bleed them.

oh and i got dad to machine a lambda bung to take my EGT probe, so fitted that for now too lol

if i dont get called out for work this weekend, ill get some pics lol

only a month since my last post lol

right, few more bits done. took the last of the fuel hoses to get the ends swaged on etc, and refitted them to the car

brake lines are all done too

coilpack is now mounted

and a zetec alternator was modified and the mount fromt he pinto was again modded to fit

one thing im usure of is how strong the hole on the water pump is that is ideal to bolt the tensioner to. hopefully it will be fine, but time will tell

engine loom is now all fettled and fitted to the car

along with most of the lighting circuit, still got a few bits to finish off

had my old man mod a lambda bung for the EGT guage probe

im now just starting to sort through the dash wiring etc, traced a few wires for the push start and alternator etc, so can now connect that up, also found that i should be able to use the old starter cable from my old mk6 escort for the starter, as the plug looks like it will fit, and the cable is long enough to reach the dash

need to construct some more pipework to fit the swirl pot, but nothing major

made up an oil pressure line for the turbo feed and fitted the oil pressure sensor etc

i had also removed the front brake lines as they were leaking from the tee peice, but the copper washers i used seemed too big so i think ill get some smaller ones and fit them before i refill and bleed the system again as i wasnt happy with it.

another enigne shot

i also had just enough carbon to remake the dash, this time is symetrical almost, except for the idiot lights. reason for this is cos of an addional 2 guages lol
act is now in the dash surround

mk1 dash effort

new and improved mk2 lol

i have now cut a hole in the right hand part of the dash for the other addional guage, and all guages are now fitted, but no pics of this as i dint finish till 11.30 last night lol

sorted out the rear brake issues, so now have focus st170 front discs on the rear with the evo 8 brembo callipers. crap pic as car was still half in the garage

and a pic of the towing damage: arse

still a few more odds and sods to do, and wiring etc, but it really isn that far off now. another good weekend with some battery cable and i reckon it'll be time to turn the key!

not gonna be running in time for combe tho, as got a wedding this weekend coming...

Default zetec turbo help required

i own a 2.0 zetec turbo escort mk6 but having a little trouble
when the engine has been run for about 10 minutes and i open up the bonnett i notice some smoke coming from the breather tank you know the little black thing that connects to the small piece of pipe coming out of the rocker cover can any one tell me the course of this
i have changed the oil and oil filter and flushed the engine but still does it
it seems like it is breathing heavy and will it help if i fitted a oil catch tank there instead of that little cheap plastic thing

hope you can help
