This is getting bloody ridiculous now, people being banned because they insult a Mod's itty bitty ego

 

so where do you draw the line at banter then ??
why should the mods get greif for doing their job??

Maybe if they did their job properly and unintrusively, no-one would moan. Instead you get snidey threats being made before the banning is done.

A proper Mod will PM the culprit first and try and reach a solution, instead of just pressing the ban button. It come's across as if the Mods really enjoy it when they press that button.

 

Sorry peeps but anyone abusing teh mods on a personal level deserve whatever they get IMO. And i say this as a friend of Rich Pon's.

No need to be abusing mods... read the rules and abide by them. Its really a simple game. We have 22000+members and yet, only a couple ever get banned... what does that tell you about the rules? Simple to follow for the masses, oh yes.

Richard has been warned before about this as I am sure Eagle will tell you.

We are not trigger happy with the ban button and always PM the people before they are banned. Mike even phoned Phil (bosch-man) to explain to him why he was banned and for how long.

We dont enjoy it, but if people constantly push the rules that we all agreed to, to the limit and beyond then they should expect to pay the consequences.

Its only a 24hr ban this time, but if it happens again he will be warned, and if he still continues then he will be banned for longer.

What a muppet...Stu or who ever gives out the powers should take them off people when they abuse the trust given to them and that has well and truely been abused....You taunted him with a threat and when he then took the bait you banned him...Pretty spinless and like redkop said snidey and that is not a friendly trait to have............

You wounder why every one gets on ya back Andy, well take a look at what you have just done, but you carry on coz your only doing as you have been asked to do, well i for one dont think Stu asked you to goad people into getting banned. You tried to get a reaction just so you could ban Richard.....

Couldn't have said it better myself. It does seem like one mod in particular likes to get a few punches in first before the button is hit.

Adrian, I don't doubt that Mike messaged (not massaged ) Phil first, but then he's not the mod that tends to be in the centre of this kind of thing. From what little I know "Banchester" has a bit of a reputation for it. I'm sure a lot of toys would be thrown from various prams if someone like Chip or Phil were put in power. Just a thought.

This kind of things tend to put 'The Mods' in a bad light, however unjust.

Would it not have been prudent then to make sure that Rich had read/received the PM before Banchester pressd the ban button?
I have spoken to Rich in MSN and he never received a PM, he went to log in and found he was banned! That's not very clever is it - eh?

 

Serious question: Should they not both be banned? Seemed to come from both sides...

seriously though give the mods a break guys its hardly real life is it just a board with excellent banter and some good info

"At the Moderator's discretion" that's a moot point, as in the past Andy has shown little or any discretion and that's why he has so little respect from the majority of users.
