Exclamation 5000 pound renewal!!!

hi guys. ive had a policy with thames city for 9 months now (what they call a year) and its dew for renewal.

ive had my frst on there for approx 3 months, and they are now saying to continue being insured with them i can pay a single £4997 or £1000 deposit followed by £510 a month. this is ALOT more then my first policy with them, and i should have my first years no claims with them now?

1) why so much when it should be cheaper?
2) Does anyone know any good insurers

FYI- im 19 and have or at least should of had 1 years no claims.
i know im only 19 but i cant help loving my frst at this 'high risk' age lol.

Simple answer; they no longer want your business.

Plenty of insurers out there, failing that, buy a rotbox of a car.

yet i bet they are all still making massive profits! greed goes too far.

i do think if they carry on the way insurance is going then hundreds of thousands will be priced off the road.

Makes you wonder if the government are in on it??? maybe thats why they wont intervene and have a state regulated and price controlled third party scheme.

I remember insuring my first Sports car for £40 fully comp at 19 .

The solution these days is being old. Mines down again this year & my ncb hit 46years .

Been sorting insurance out for my 17 year old son, and have found out today that most insurance companies have put the premiums up 25% during the last month, due to so many accidents over the winter.

i think you just need to ring around mate, like i said im 19 and have a FRST and was getting silly quotes, then at one stage it went down, so i ended up buying one, and then when you tick that little box that says you actually own the car bam they got you by the nut sack, at this point i really felt like giving up when i was getting quotes of 2k-3 tpft and 4-5k fully comp, literally rung around every where even flux wouldnt have me for under 4k, then i posted on website and sky reckoned they could help and wala £1450 and im a very happy bunny, not that its cheap or anything but considering i payed £2500 for my corsa c 2 years ago

never.

simply because our roads are overcrowded and the government supports the environmental issue, so anyway of forcing us off the road while screwing the remaining people for as much cash as possible is a good money maker!!

remember poor people are also more likely to drive without insurance, less likely to pay up fines, less likely to buy new cars, less often service cars in garages etc etc etc so they get little money from poor people anyway. so in the government eyes, who gives a shit if they fuck them over more and get them off the roads Any tax they loose by forcing poor people off the road they crawl back from the extra cost of rip off public transport.

the way things are going in this country driving will once again become something the middle class and upper class only can afford.

I guess the government will also use the health and obesity crisis as another reason to get the poor off the road

well listen to this, it would appear i jinxed myself last night when i was going on about insurance, apparently even though i was the main driver of the last two cars the only way i will get my 2 years no claims is if i go with direct line, this is where the bloke just laughed at me, we cant insure you till your 21, so basically told sky i have 2 years but the fackers wont give me my ncb, anyway sky said o we will sort it etc etc, get a phone call this morning saying i have 7 days till cancelation of my insurance as even though i have 2 years it needs to be actually ncb, so no it doesnt look like im going to be able to insure my Rs full stop.

Just go somewhere else. I used to change every year until I insured with Elephant. They've been pretty good with renewals so far, so I've just stuck with them the last few years.

well it will be coming off the road to get alot of work done to it. as i wont be paying for the running of the car it will be quicker to get it to the spec i want. it will be hard not driving for a year as i have no other car but worth it when its finished. plus in 12 months time im hoping the insurance would have gone down, needless to say i wont be going with thames city ever again, ill try the insurers suggested on this post.
