registering it as a kit car usually helps I might do that with mine as it was a one off build from new highly modified body shell.

does take some reading tbh lol!!!

Your a named driver though? surely your better of getting your own policy and sticking a parent on, this way you earn your won ncd?

May be wrong as some do award the named driver ncd??

It shows you can't be bothered to spell correctly, so why would people bother with an answer. You will get more response if you use English.

But still £90 on an S2 RST equates to £1080 fully comp for 12 months and if you paid if in one lump sum it would've been cheaper!

Which insurance company gave you that quote? Is their registered trading address on the planet Zog because they'd have to be absolutely off their fucking trolley to give you that quote

I couldn't get a quote less than 4k as a named driver on a FRST when I tried a year or so ago.

Sounds about right in your name but that is a MONUMENTAL drop in price even just as a named driver. You sure you are actually on that policy and it is not just your dad by mistake? My dad has full ncb and is 60 years old yet putting him on I save only a few hundred quid at most. Not near as dammit £3k over the whole year!

£30 a month x 12 months = £360. That is correct for insuring your dad only. If you were on that policy as well and it was a pukka policy I will have my own bollocks for breakfast. I still do not believe you have insurance cover fully comp at 17 on a S2 ERST for just over £1k named driver or not or mods declared or not.

Really cannot see how you got that quote. Don't think anyone on here can.

Not having a pop at you or anything but just doesn't seem right somehow.

I'm 19 by the way and drive a 1.8 focus TPFT my OWN policy £1800 and I had a previous claim.

19y/o, one years ncb, mum as named driver and 0 points . Costs me just over £900 tpft for my standard s2 RST. Tried for a quote on a mk3 XR3 (not an 'i') and they wanted £1450! Insurance companies make no sense!!! Yeah it might be an older car but it only has four gears a carb and no turbo! Not to mention the lack of an RS badge!

i seriously doubt that 1k quote on an RST as a named driver. i'd want to see that quote in writing and double checked before signign up to it. it just had to be a mistake!

also going as a named driver on your own car to get cheaper insurance is not actually legal as it voids the terms and conditions of the policy. so you'll have fun come claim time... lol

I seriously think that the quote you have mate is JUST for your dad alone so please please check your insurance certificate to make sure it is all legal and everything is fine (for your own sake).

Insurance is mad. When I first insured my ERST I was 20, 1 YRS NCB and an SP30 and it was £749 a year.

Same details for XR3i's, RS2000's etc was £1200+. It was only £87 a year cheaper to insure a 1.3 Fiesta Ghia.
