IMO they are what the capri was in the 80's, a car that looks like it should be driven by a bloke with a perm and a medallion.
Although with 20" rims on it, at least you can start selling crack.
You'll need to cos they're fookin expensive when they break

Great cars and engines let down by being a complete cunt to work on due to the cramped enginebay and big V6 engine.
Has AWESOME potential tho...

You guys clearly haven't ever owned one!
The main things that DO go wrong are the auto gearbox because they are insufficiently cooled, but a cooler upgrade is available at around Ł110.00
The manual gearbox isn't as strong as the auto and most people shy away from them because 90% of 300s are autos and they are therefore difficult to replace. Rebuilds are an option of course, same as the auto but they are expensive.
They are a little tight to work on but like any unit of that size even in a big car, you should expect that.
Roof seals can become leaky if not maintained properly, door locks aren't very tough and leather seats get battered quickly.
Parts aren't difficult to get hold of but some can be expensive.
Rear quarter vision is non-existant.
Excellent driving position.
Stacks of toys that would shame a Ł40k car!!
I couldn't comment on the TT life expectancy as mine was a NA but still 225bhp out the box.
You can normally pass about one petrol station before having to fill up again.
Good cars for no money and considering that they are a 15 year old design they still have presence.

Mine...which was the SWB version so no RWS, no back seats and about 18 inches shorter, lighter and looks better IMO!!
A blitz induction kit and a four exit stainless exhaust makes them sound awesome especially when you boot it from a standing start

Don't blame me, I never broke one honest guv
I do remember trying to hold an automatic one at 5k on the hand brake to launch it on the A30 by the jolly farmer [american golf now] or was that a supra fuck knows, I was probably drunk
P.S. that was a joke btw, cos I don't drink

Ha ha, no wonder you broke it - you'd turn it into a 'Mongolian Barbeque' - as it was before PMSL!

I owned a 1991 standard manual TT in 2003, imported it myself cost me around Ł2200 all in .
Standard apart from the exhaust and it was quick, faster than a standard cossie.
B'stads to work on but mine was reliable for the 6 months I had it.
I liked it

My old chap has a mint white UK spec M plater (20odd k miles from memory) and also has a 350Z, the 300 is by far the faster car in a straight line!
Still prefer the 350 though, go-kart like handling.

Had 2 one twin turbo and one non turbo that i've still got now (though admittedly i am getting bored of her now,as it does'nt go wrong enough for my liking ) the turbo's great but i started having trouble with the HCAS system and the wipers of all things but the one i've got at the moment is bulletproof and i would'nt say that much slower, both have had auto box's a damn sight stronger than the manual box which is the achilles heel of the car.

The TT is a very nice car to drive but shit to work on.
For example, replacing the turbo's is a huge job, the best thing to replace them is taking the whole engine out, but it can be done without taking the engine out.
@Cfoster, that was an nice example of a great 300zx
