I was in today to get the car set up and to see what the problem was with the boost.

They strapped the car on and did the usual checks before starting the run, everything fine until it comes on to boost.

The gauge hit 22psi and it was pinking like fuck

That 6 psi more than it should run, seems some jealous wank has turned the bleed valve up at one of the shows

They turned it down and made sure everything was fine which thankfully it is

The car now runs 11psi but at that boost it made 193.5@ the wheels which isnt to bad

I didnt get a graph coz i was pissed off, but its going in shortly to get the bleed valve taken out and set up again so i will get a graph and post it up.

Makes you wonder if its safe to leave the car at the shows

 

do you not have a boost gauge in the car? surely you must have felt a difference running 6psi more boost than normal

Lil cooonts thats what i hate about leaving ya bonnet open at shows...Its either that or sum chrome shit goes missing

 

I never really drive it hard but one morning coming home from work i gave it a bit of stick and the gauge hit 20psi never been that high before.

 

It was either lightwater valley or croft RS shows

If you insist on using a bleed, engrave a mark into the side of it so you can check after each show.

 

had that done to me before too at pod... spotted it instantly (the TWANG PING TWING TWING PING noise coming from the engine kinda gave it away) was a pissr, as it used to take me fucking AGES to set the boost up on the TwinTurbo and i wasted 3 runs up the strip getting it back in balance

 

thats why you should never leave your bonnet open unattended at shows

Yeah some people are coonts, makes me think about leaving my bonnet open, though i dont have a bleed valve!

But i cant remember at one show Ford(somthing) that some guy nick some chrome of somebodys car

my mates 5 turbo was at a show with the bonet up - when he tried to leave he found loads of little stanley knife nicks in his water and boost samcos....
