Default which capri 4 cossy conversion?

yo people, me & 2 mates decided on doing a track car for 2006 just to have a larf, we've just come across a tidy standard cossie lump for peanuts and decided on a capri to put it in.

Anyway anyone done this conversion and which would be beta a 3.0 or 2.0 litre engined version for the transmission etc??

2.8i is best bet IIRC

lucky to find a 3litre for cheap, and a 2litre is a shopping model

cant stand capris myself tho, id rather wang it in a mk2 escort, esp if it was sommat well daft, like a base model square headlamp 4door

yeah 2.8 because of the injection pump already there plus vented front brakes.
try and get a 2.8i special with lsd
but get a 2litre front crossmember which is different to the v6 one

much cheaper and easier to do a capri than an escort 1 / 2

As the original said, it's MUCH MUCH cheaper to Cossie a Capri than an Escort. The 2.8i Special IS the one to go for, although you'll need to have the Gp4 wavy plates put in the LSD as they're pretty 'slack' as standard. It's got the right axle, suspension, brakes etc. don't go for a 2-litre or 3-litre.

The 2.8i will be the best one for the conversion engine wise, but for the better shell you want the Laser, and I can't remember correctly if they did a 2.8i Laser, but if ya find one, sorted.
