Default Dunfermline to fraserburgh. Epic ford story must read

Yesterday (Tuesday), Steve and myself were going on a road trip 146 miles each way to buy XR2 Calipers he had bought on ebay.

I finished work at three pm and was at steve's house for about three fifteen.

He made a small picnic for the journey and we set off about half three.

Within the first two minutes of the journey i mentioned to steve that his wheel bearing was rather noisy although he assured me it would be fine.

Everything was going great cos i managed to fix the heater in Kelis(steve's escort) with only a blade fuse and a relay. We had heat!!!

Hit the motorway. We seemed to be doing fine.

We got past Perth and Dundee and the only problem was that i had not eaten anything all day.

About two miles south of Forfar something terrible happened.
The aforementioned wheel bearing collapsed and sent Kelis into a slide as the back wheel had locked up under the strain.
BUGGER!!!

Steve pulled the car into a very handily located layby in very controlled and somewhat impressive manner.

Pause!!!!!!

We phoned everybody we knew and no-one was able to save us. BUGGER!!!

We decided that the only logical thing to do was to have a sandwich. Chicken and salad cream warburtons.

The sandwich didn't help that much to be honest.

We walked to McDonalds, a considerable trek and indulged in some fine cuisine.

Phoned Marc, he drove up to get us. Fucking legend.

We continued on in the rescue car to Fraserbugh. Got the calipers and headed back down the road.

By the time we got to Aberdeen something drastic was required, we stopped at the biggest Asda in the whole world. It was on two levels, sold power tools and castrol, AWESOME supermarket.

The journey continues, between Aberdeen and Kelis, the fiesta dies.
BUGGER!!!

We pull into a layby and the fiesta sits for 30 seconds then goes again.
YIPPEE!!!

A short while down the road, the same thing happens, Marc informs us that " this is fuckin bullshit".
BUGGER!!!

We are now many many miles from home with two wheels, two tyres, two calipers, jump leads, two capri suns, a packet of salt&vinegar hula hoops, fifty quid worth of petrol, 25p between us and two dead cars.
BUGGER!!!

After discussing the idea of 3 guys sleeping in a mk3 fiesta with two tyres on the back seat, it was decided to try to get the fiesta going.

She bursts into life!
YIPPEE!!!

We decide to stop for KELIS. She drives so we set off with both cars driving home.

We had decided that the reason for the fiesta dying was dirty fuel. But then the escort dies!!!!
BUGGER!!!

We then established that the fuel was freezing due to it being -40 degrees

NOTE: If your fuel freezes, use the choke

Once that was all over it was a very calm drive down the road home.

The night was definitely an experience.

BOTTOM LINE: Both fords made it home and both still drive.

Wonderful

wish i was on sed road trip lads. beats doin coursework in glasgow thats for sure.

nah a vauxhall wouldnt have stood a chance. at point of wheel bearing colapse, the ferocious, jelly baby on a roller skate style, body roll of the vauxhall would have sent it carrering into the armco and then parked up in a field.... which is kinda a nice thot but not the point.

in conclusion, steve and slim would have had a little visit to the hospital to remove chocolate vauxhaul trim from there faces.

well i'm just glad it went so well!!

my main reason for being so happy is that both fords made it hope and nobody died even though we walked a mile in the fast lane of one of the most dangerous roads in britain 4 times in one night.

It's also good how Jiz and Scrot find it essential to make posts on here when the only help offered was a gloating giggle from kyle and "remove identification and burn the escort" from Ross.
Cheers lads.

Its was worth all the shitty bits just to go to that Asda though
