Default WOOHOOOOO and Bugger @ york dragway

the WOOHOOOO bit:

was at york dragway today in the saffy
running 4 greys, T3 ( T4 not repaired yet ) slightly higher comp ratio than STD , and only 17psi cos the turbo is smoking like a good un (wasnt gonna run the car but last one of the year and i had been looking forward to this for months so had to go)

still on standard rims with shyyyyyyyyte dunlop tyres and a complete lack of traction in 1st and 2nd sometimes 3rd depending how hard the change was.
results...............................

in the low 14`s all day untill my last 2 runs.

got a 13.8 @106.55 and was well chuffed.
had 1 last go before i went home,

i manadged a terminal of 108mph on one of the runs

what does your cossie do the quarter in? 2 cossie lads were there and on greens i think and like me couldnt dip below the 14`s.
is it just the crap surface at york?

and

manadged to get a 13.7 @106.79

mate was in his mk2 RS2000 and manadged a time of 15.9 if i remember rightly.
another mate was in his 1600RST and only manadged a 15.4 (previousley manadged a 14.6!!!!!) due to clutch problems.

the BUGGER bit........

on the way down i came onto a left hander sliproad and decided it`d be a good idea to drift round the bend and make lots of smoke off the tyres, i succeded and looked impressive, wasnt till i got to york and noticed the jerrycan and toolbox had smacked the back quarter from inside the boot and totally shafted my rear quarter

dont look bad in the pic but its totally mashed the rear 1/4, only part of the car i wished never to get damadged. bollox, well that`ll teach me for showing off

is york elvington? if so i thought the surface was superb for grip.

what power are you running? for those terminals/times id guess at around 300bhp ish with a good launch

kev- york is melbourne dragstrip, not elvington airfield, although its only 10-15mins further away.

the surface is a little "broken up " in places! startline is the only good bit really, times at york though can be good, if its dry and warm. on cold or damp days its generally very poor traction there

Kev,
its york, NOT elvington!
surface is utter wank.

17psi and greys, guess at 350bhp max?!
non standard internals/head though so who knows, never been power run with the T3 on. (no point PMSL!)
the starts are the bad points to the runs.

heres a few bits of info off my slips:
react: .925
60ft: 2.851
1/8: 8.382
1/4: 14.574 @103.5

react: 1.040 ( )
60ft: 2.699
1/8 9.691
1/4: 14.462 @102.82

react: .945
60ft: 2.614
1/8 9.463
14.107 @ 108.31

react: .990
60ft: 2.598
1/8: 9.418
1/4:14.078 @106.19

react: .942
60ft: 2.406
1/8: 9.176
1/4: 14.056 @ 101.96

react: .836
60ft: 2.459
1/8 9.190
1/4 13.8 @106.55

react: .863
60ft: 2.439
1/8 9.104
1/4 13.756@106.76

not too shabby considering last time i ran i had a .93 T4 and ran between 18sec and 15sec 1/4 PMSL!!! 1st,2nd and 3rd gears were useless!!! from lag to wheelspin city.

its all in the start, need to master that!!!!

Sean.

aye if you can sort the start out you will run much better times but i,d have thought a t3 would have maxed at around 320bhp regardless of the rest of the engine spec?

you really need to learn to drive my car with COSSIE rear suspension on greens standard T3 @22psi boost used to run13.0/12.9 @ 111mph and done this over 15times, 60fts were 2.1's on toyo T1S's

Indeed a T3 even with a 60 trim compressor wheel is no good for anymore than around 320bhp.
