Default Daihatsu Charade GT-ti

Was wondering if these were any good for what they are. i just want a cheap to insure fairly nippy turbo car.

Anyone know what cc the turbos were available in as ive seen alot of 993s 3 cyl 6 valves but i heard about a DOHC 12v?

Cheers

the Gtti turbo is a 993cc 3 cyl 12v twin cam intercooled turbo which is around 100 bhp iirc

there was another turbo charade which was shite!

the gtti is the one to go for if you can find a decent one these days

Pretty quick from what I can remember, mate was in his (std) RST and he had a job keeping up on the twisties (and he could peddle!) many years ago, but oh so funny at the time.

I really wanted one when I was about 17!

Hardly any left now cos the rear shock mounts rot out. Shame - they were cool! b

Great little car. I driven one. VERY VERY Lightweight, motorcycle-like engine. Can be tuned to about 160-180bhp for sensible money. Hard to get parts for those this days though and body rots like hell. Even Fords don't rot like that.
