And the esses on a Sat night, before they put traffic carming measures in.

bloke who used to deliver from the indian take-away round here had one last year. Always made it within the promised "35 to 40 minutes, boss" so must be reasonably quick

GTTI
i had 1 of these theyre the bolloks and DIRT cheap to insure, a mint non sunroof model makes silly money. they have forged pistons as standard, so a bleed valve, an fuel-cut defender (fcd- does the same as a chipped ecu) exhaust and itg air filter your lookin at about 140- 150 bhp from a 1 litre! great 1st turbo car, most of them are rotten now tho. check out gttioc.co.uk

They roost man.
friend of mine used to have one and it did over 140 mph.
He changed the jets in the carb and turned up the boost.
Hell it was fast, used to give my uno turbo a good run for the money.

gtti
parts are pricey tho, i needed a pair of rear shocks, got quoted 90 each trade price from a motor factors. they have rear discs as standard too. later 1's have a water cooled turbo. gear boxes are a problem too, mine got stuck in reverse the day i got it when reversing at speed, but the common prob is they jump out of 5th, mine eventually done that aswell!

Lancia Y10 turbos, Micra Super Turbos, early Starlet Turbos, Chevriolet Turbo Sprints, etc etc etc were all 1litre and turbo.
And there must be at least 20 600cc turbo cars around as jap laws allow cars of no more than 600cc and 60bhp to be driven on a provisional licence in japan, so tons of companies produce tuneable turbocharged 600cc fuckers, always have done.

I REALLY, REALLY wanted one of those when I was 17!
Unfortunatly that was 15 years ago!! (you think insurance rates are daft now?!)
The last time I saw one I was looking at buying it, opened the boot and - Behold!, Daylight all around the suspension mountings!
Seriously, it wanted a good couple of days solid welding, and that was 5 years ago. Walk away.
Do wot I did and get a 205 GTi while you still can!
