don't really know of any. but i find drinking plenty of water stops you being bloated, try not to have to much bread and not too much beer. works for me but im not promising anything. bike riding and sex help too.

atkins

do it religously; no beer, no bread, no veggies, no fruit, no chockies, no carbo's of any kind - DO IT RELIGIOUSLY for 2 weeks and you can easily lose 5/6 kilos.

makes your breath smell and you fart a lot as well

My advice (from my own experience) is to lay off the fried food and anything involving desserts and pastry. Cut back on the beer too and if you do fancy a pint or so make sure its before 7 at night so you have time to burn off the calories before your metabolism slows down for the night.
The best thing is jsut plenty of exercise. If you jsut cut back on food and dont work out your bodies reaction is to think food is short and convert more of the food into fat.
Swimming, jogging and cycling are the best for aerobic activity. I wouldnt bother with the gym as a) Membership costs are pretty high these days b) You get bored of it. c) People have a tendancy not to push themselves.
If you go out for a ride and get tired then hey you still have to get back home whereas in the gym you jsut stop and get off.
Stop eating pies and get some freakin exercise then you won't be crippling the rest of us with your health bills when you turn 50.

Avoid things like bread and pasta, try to stick to rice. Also avoid anything you know is considered fatty or high in calories (like cakes, biscuits, take-aways, etc)

Drink spirits with diet coke/lemonade instead of lager

As said Cardio is the way to go, im trying to get 2 x sessions of 20 mins per day at the moment, 20 min run in the morning and 20 mins on a x trainer at the gym.

Caffeine before a workout is suppose to help you burn fat faster!

Also my friend swears by ECA Stacks for shredding fat, its 100% herbal and is suppose to kill your appetite and increase your metabolism by 7-8% he is on one meal a day when he takes Stacks, they don't seem to work on me though I still eat like a horse.

focusbird I think we goto the same gym Total Fatness on the bypass your car was parked outside the other day between 4-4:30 when I got there?

from what I've seen if you lose it fast it'll come back jsut as fast.
As well as this if you lose..........say 26lbs in 4 weeks then you have a problem and that problem is your skins elasticity. You'll have big folds of flabby skin from losing the weight too fast. You might look alot thinner but once the clothes come off and the skin starts hanging you may as well not have bothered. Work out properly, its the only way to go.

I wasnt meaning you - jsut that 26lbs is alot of weight for 4 weeks.
Incidently 26lbs is equal to almost 18 cans of coke in weight!! or 11 bags of sugar!!

Over here the portions of food are epic sized and you soon get used to eating it all when you only need about 2/3 of it. Its hard to cut down though b'cos u get used to the bigger size and your stomach tells you its not as full as usual. makes me hungry jsut thinking about it!

I don't own any scales so I cant comment on weight but at Xmas I was in 34in jeans and after cutting out desserts and fried stuff and biking or running 3 times a week my 32"s are too big and I can get back into the solitary pair of 29" ones I've got. Result.

I have to agree with pgt: Atkins is great! You need to read the book though to fully understand it.

TRIED AND TESTED AND I HAVE LOST 1.3 STONE IN 6 WEEKS.

Bowl of cereal for breakfast and a low fat yoghurt.

Bowl of cereal for Lunch and a chicken salad roll, (no mayo, use salad cream

Couple of spoons of Cottage Cheese if still a little peckish.

Chicken, or some other meat based meal for dinner with veg, and an apple, or fruit salad for pudding.

-------------------------

It sounds a drain but it works.

If you feel at all hungry at any stage then a small bowl of cereal or a pint of water, or pure apple juice.

Cut out the carbs and you will be good, few pressups and situps each day to help raise the metabolism, and help to burn fat.

My brother was a fat bastid, but he done the diet that Buffy mentioned, along with his heffer of a wife. They both lost loads of weight, very succesfully. never put it back on either. Tis a good diet, and like Buffy says, you are monitored and checked thoroughly while you're on it.

I have had enough of being frumpy so I did the research and found out what the majority of dietricians recommend and went for it.

I go to the gym 4 times a week now and I feel so much better for it.

You will feel better about yourself and will be happy to walk down the beach with no top on.

Eat less. Seriously, I lost 6 stone

Don't eat late and walk.

Atkins did me really well when I hit a level too, but I dunno about you but I cannot be arsed with diets where you can/can't eat shite.

My weight cam eoff quick enough. I didn't eat (I was sad) for a couple of weeks, then your stomach shrinks and you don't want to eat as much.

I've been following a diet my mate gave me about a year ago.

He went from 18 stone to 13 stone in 6 Months!

I've been a bit more slack with it but have managed a drop from 19st 10lb, to 16 stone 10lb.

I do a fair bit of weight training as part of the program so some weight I've lost in fat has been gained in muscle.

Its basically a low carb, low fat, high protein, high fibre diet. Along with around 60 - 90 mins in the gym 3 - 4 days a week.

Everyone will give u different types of diets but in its simplist form your intake of calories needs to be lower than the amount you burn. Its just finding a method that suits your life style.

That's similar to what I was doing, I lost almost 3 stone over a period of about 3 - 4 months ish. Calmed down now, but eating sensibly and getting the exersize is what its all about
