Zetec Turbo exhaust smoke!!!!!!
ever since the turbo'd zetec engine has been built it has always been quite smokey! I put this down to the turbo as it was a second hand t3 i got for cheap. today i replaced it with a t34 (new) and it still smokes like a bitch. now what else could it be?
breather?
valve stem oil seals?
on an escort cossie bailey oil breather what is all the pipes for?
2 on top obviously go to engine but underneath there is a small 1 and a large 1.
i take it 1 of them is a return to the sump but which 1????????????????????

My Fiesta's ZT smoked like a bitch when I first got it..
Solved it by first sorting a proper Bailey Cossie breather, 2nd its seemed to prefer the oil level to be just above the minium, no idea why?? but it worked
After that it was always fine

what are the 2 pipes on the underside of a bailey oil breather for?
i take it 1 goes to atmosphere and 1 goes to the sump is the small 1, the 1 that goes to atmosphere cos right now its going to the sump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

problem solved. cheers Alex. you were correct. took pipe off underside of breather and no smoke. couldnt believe it. well chuffed.
i bought a new t34 first tho cos i thought it was the seals in the turbo at first. never mind. laggy as fook though.

my 16v zetec turbo FRST use to smoke like a bitch,blocked off breather outlet i had installed in back of the block,then just left it to breathe off rocker cover,catch tank,atmosphere,....problem solved
heard loads of people say them do smoke if you over fill with oil or if it is right on the max
T34 how to blow best part of £800???????
