Default MTX75 limited slip diff....

Afternoon all.

Think I've got to bite the bullet and spend some money on a diff to go with my zetec tubs. Anyone know if there are opposing brands to quaife that perform as well and maybe CHEAPER? Or do I have to just accept that I need to spend a big lump?

It's a normal focus 2.0 FWD MTX75.

Cheers,
Matt

there all around the same price . its cheaper to buy a focus rs box than it is to buy a diff.

Yeah I've looked at that option.... They're a bit few and far between at the moment. All the FRS's being broken seem to have had the gearbox's snapped up by someone else already!!

does it have to be a lsd?
plated diffs tend to be a little cheaper.

I'm open to suggestion on diffs.... But it will be road and track so needs to be nice enough to drive on the road too.

If I go the focus rs gearbox route, do they have the same size driveshaft fitting as the 2.0 focus mtx75 diff....ie are my current driveshafts going to fit it?

A plated diff is an LSD..
Viscous, plated and the likes of quaife/torque biasing diffs are all different types of LSD.

I did have a quaife diff in my escort rs turbo and it was very nice not noisy like a plated diff and worked well but I really dislike them in rwd cossies.

Plated mike, I dont like the noise on tight turns but it's not too bad, can live with it.

I think they're a bit aggresive for fwd though.
