Any one have voltage readings for sensors on back of inlet manifold on the Escort Turbo. Mine just will not run with Aux air plugged in.

the aux air valve allows air through to help the car tickover when its started from cold, all the multiplug does is tell it that the engine is getting warm and the disc inside the valve will slowly close until its shut. If you unplug the black multiplug from the valve the car should start, the only difference you will notice is that the revs will stay higher for longer as now the valve is relying on purely engine heat to shut it. If the car struggles to idle you may have a problem with the actual valve, try spraying some carb cleaner inside it, run the car, then spray wd40 in it to stop the disc sticking, then see how it runs. If it still runs shite then I suggest you try another valve.

mmm, explains why it sat at 1800 RPM for ages then. Its being set up in a week and a bit just wanna make sure all sensors are functioning correctly.
So if this was plugged in and is an issue with it would it give the black smoke out exhaust even on start up.

the aux air valve shouldnt cause the car to smoke whether its working or not, I may be wrong though
You say the idle sat at 1800 rpm for ages, did it go down after a while ?

Yeah, I dont know the ECU.
Try cleaining it out mate with carb cleaner & wd40 as I said above then see how it idles. Mine used to have really shite idle until I cleaned out the valve, then got my local garage to set the idle speed & fueling and its been alright ever since.

The ECU on the car. Well I dont know the history of it. Its not the one that came with the car.
Just find it funny it will run with this bugger disconnected. Will do as ya stated and see what happens then

do you have any other problems with the car that could be ecu related ? If not you may aswell leave the aux air valve unplugged, the only difference you'll notice is the revs will stay higher for longer when you start it from cold.

Dunno, not really, I know I had it before with an old Escort but the plugs had all been resoldered so I had swapped aux air and thermo time switch.
Will swap the ECU on Sat to just ensure. WD40 the aux air and go from their I guess.

20K+ Super Poster.
all thats been mentioned above
all the multiplug does is heat the wire inside the thing to make it shut FASTER.
should cause NO issues except increased idle speed.

From What I can see 1 leg goes to The fuel injection Relay and Waste gate solenoid and the other goes to Ground. MMMM ok. Would it matter if none of the pipes are on wastegate solenoid. Yes This will be connected at weekend!!!
