Animal Rights Protesters - At my work!!!
Group of about 6 of them have been stood outside with banners and a megaphone for a few hours now.
Police are there too keeping them under control.
The 2 really funny things about this is:
1) You cant hear fook all inside this building anyway (we dont even hear the sandwich lady when she beeps her horn)
2) We're nothing to do with the manufacturing part of the business, the people they are protesting against for using real leather in the passenger cars are based in Germany and the other side of the city!
Some people have far too much spare time

The last count of animal rights protesters at Hams Hall protesting against Sainsburys topped over a 1000
What was most alarming though ............... it was 2:15am
Didnt think those fuckers got up before noon
Lost my business a lot of money that day
Fucking tree huggers

What you want to do is this:
Get one of the younger male employees to agree to take part.
Then get them to wear a greenpeace t-shirt, gag them, blindfold them, and bound them with their hands behind their back.
Then get two suited employees both wearing sunglasses to forcibly eject him out the front door into the waiting arms of the protesters
Should make the National News

I ran into a similar situation when I worked at a nuclear power plant.
Greenpeace came to town to protest nuclear power and stopped at the grocery store to get directions. Oddly enough, the person that the greenpeace rep asked for directions worked at the nuke plant and gave them directions to a fossil fuel plant in the same vicinity. Ironically, the dirt burner had cooling towers since they were using river water for cooling and we did not because we used the entire chesapeake bay.
So.....Greenpeace goes and protests nuclear power at a dirt-burner and think that they must be in the right place because there are cooling towers at the plant and EVERYONE knows that only nuke plants use cooling towers....LOL
All in all, they spent about 6 hours protesting at the wrong place and never did figure it out, until the evening news that nite. The news anchors were poking fun at them for being gullible and stupid.

Oh yeah....one other run-in with Greenpeace
We were anchored about a mile off the coast of France (Toulon or Marseilles, I can't remember which one) back in '88 and we'd been in port for about a week at that time.
Here comes Greenpeace in 2 or 3 Zodiac boats.....bouncing toward the ship (an aircraft carrier)
The captain somehow knew they were coming and instructed the chief engineer that 'those idiots are not to touch this vessel' and we had every available fire pump running and all the external fire stations manned for the arrival of the zodiacs.
Now, normally you're not allowed to pump your holding tanks (CHT) inside international waters............normally
However....the high level alarms were coming in to central control and the tanks could either be pumped out, or overflow.....but either way the brown trout were going to get out of the tanks.
So....with this scenario in mind, it was decided to pump the tanks off the side of the ship facing out to sea so that it would minimize the effect on the shoreline.
Oddly enough....Greenpeace didn't want to be able to be photographed from shore attempting to deface a US Naval vessel with spray paint, so they went around the far side of the ship also......
Well, as they attemped to approach the ship with their spray cans, everyone with a fire hose let them have it and almost everyone in the zodiacs went swimming with the brown trout (unknowingly, of course) and they kept coming for about 45 min before they realized they were not going to be successful with their spray paint.
I don't suppose it was pleasant smelling for them on the way back to shore or home.....but we sure got a good laugh out of it

When I worked for SKB we had protesters who would chuck nails into the carpark. Obviously less than impressed I chucked a handful back... only for me to be done by the coppers (got one of them in the eye lol) Got off though, they were on the companies property... my poor car etc... I think I was too much of a headache so they just gave up.

The funny thing is that most of these "do gooding wanks" protest all day, and on the way home feel hungry so they stop in at McDonalds all their morals outta the window.
the thing they have to come to accept, is that they can never do anythinga bout it as long as they keep pissing people off I agree with some of the things they have to say, but not with the way they express it
On another note, EscortWRC your an aeronautical engineer?right? I'm thinking of changing my career course, now I can either do this at collage or I was thinking of joining the RAF(air force) to study/learn this. Just wondering how you became one, sounds like you were in the navy/Air force, but what do I know lol.
Any info would be good cheers.

Yes, I am an aero engineer
Out of high school, I did 5 years in the service (Navy Nuclear Power Program - Electrician)
My first 'real' job was electrician at a commercial nuke plant (see above story)
After that, I worked general maintenance at a cogeneration plant
Went back to school at age 28
Graduated and got a job as an enginerd
There were some interesting moments along the way.....like the fun with greenpeace idiots

whys that then, great fun/ times while serving, or just you love being told what to do by teh powers to be
Not saying I don't wanna serve, just I don't want to be sent to Iraq because its a war that I personally don't agree with, Plus I don't wanna still be there in 20 years when China decideds its gonna walk all over the world
just outta interest where do you work now, civvy airport etc?

Yes
There are jobs available in the industry at the moment, but its hard to project what it will look like 4 years from now.
If I could do that.....I'd take the stock market to the cleaners and retire before I hit 40.

We used to have protests all the time at Uni - the combat trouser wearing goons, usually protesting about war in a 1960s flower power way, would march up and down all day.
So, we (sports team) decided to protest against protesting. Loads of people thought we were attempting some sort of post-modern irony, but the Uni paper was disappointed when we told them, in a true English style, "Irony? Nope, we're shit-faced"
Why did I ever think that was a good idea?
