Question Best Place To Buy New Bearings For Zetec

I'm after a set of heavy duty Mains and Big Ends for a 2.0 Blacktop Zetec.

Was looking for ACL big ends and Glyco mains but these are like Gold Dust it seems.

Just rang Burtons and they quoted me £190 for both for the Mahle ones.

Anyone got any helpful directions??

don't pay over the odds for ACL bearings, they don't actually list a 'Race' bearing for the zetec. Therefore you should only really expect to pay normal bearing prices for them. Mahle bearings are different though, they do actually list performance ones specifically for the zetec. Apparently they have taken over the old vandervell factory, so bearing quality should be very good.

That being said, i'll refer you to this thread:

Brand new short block for £299 on e-bay

And I'm sure I've seen them cheaper in the past.

Lovely, going to check that out now, thanks for the info I'm only shooting for 300bhp anyway so i don't need any diamond strength bearings lol
