Default Transit 220 57 plate oil leak

Looking for some advice. A mate of mine has a transit and it's developed a really bad oil leak which appears to be coming from the rubbers where the injectors go through the rocker cover. Is this a common fault? Do the injectors come out easy enough and what am I best changing when doing the job?
Any help greatly appriciated.

The 220 is a Transit Connect which doesn't have oil seals around the injectors. It has the old 8 valve 1.8L diesel in it.

If you do actually mean the full size Transit with the 16 valve engine then no, it's not a common fault and you can change them without taking all the injectors out as you have to remove the seals to get to the injector nut below them.

Hi yeah it's the full size transit it's a 2.2 diesel. When looking at it it looks like the injectors are held in with a bar holding two of them like. i couldn't see how the seals would come out without removing the injectors. I mustn't be looking at it properly. Iam just not wanting to pull it to bits untill I know what's what and I've got everything I need as its his work van

That's the later engine with Denso injectors then. Yes it's just a clamp that holds the injectors down. Luckily they are submerged in oil so do not corrode in like the rest of the garbage out on the roads! They should lift out nicely with a little side to side wiggle. You will have to lift them out but they should come out nice and easy.

The earlier Delphi equipped engines you could just pop the 2 pipes off, the electrical connection and swap the seals over then refit the pipes and wires. The later ones aren't quite as simple but still not bad to do.

Thanks for your reply daz, so I presume there's seals which the injectors go through, does the rocker cover need to come off? The oils definatly coming from there somehow?
