Another failed gated sump causing engine meltdown
that sounds awful mate have you thought about getting some help this mite be worth a go ? http://www.itv.com/jeremykyle/be-a-guest/
I prob know more about engines and cars than you know m8, i did spend 4yrs in the industry at a main dealer garage, I to have gone through th process of lossing all i have m8 but never once have i let it affect my profession and the people I am working for and being payed, As for the money if thats how you and Luke work ie quote a price then when it comes to the cruch ask for more to see if you can get away with it without confrontation then for me thats just wrong, but thats me and like i said above i can sleep well at night.

As for knowing more about cars and engines..dont be fucking stupid!!you are clearly lost when it comes to engines!!
You have the hump because tony told you luke fucked your map,im going to prove he didnt ..
Then you can stop being a prick and move on!!dont make this argument personally on me steve!!
All i did was speak to you before an after about it all so dont make me out to be the bad one..

I aint got the hump mate, I told you that on the txt, whats done is done, i have moved on with my engine tuner/builder and like i said i am looking forward to having Desert Moonstone Tornado back on the road, better, faster and more reliable than before.
Also how do you know how much i do or dont know about anything, guessing again.
As for Tony telling me anything, would it of been different if it was Stu or Sheady then, i gave him a broke engine and a ecu with Lukes chip in it, the pistons are detted and the ignition table is allegedly to cock, but because its Tony you have a problem accepting the fact.

You had 1.4 bar at 5 k!! it was safe as fuck ..

Ive only just seen how this thread is developing and can only really comment from my own experiences...
I have been to two highly successful Rolling Road days that Luke put on through EP which included a BBQ all FREE OF CHARGE both of which were thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended... I dont think I know of any other company that has organised one free RR day let alone two.
Also i had my 3 door mapped by Luke after i was ripped off by Paul Hills and he did a superb job of it.
Danny has also always been fine with me and I personally have no problems with him or Luke!!
I thought i should post this as everyone seems to jump on the slating bandwagon but not everyone was dissapointed with the service received!
Luke - Sorry to hear about all the problems you have had... hopefully you are on the road to recovery now and have learnt some valuable lessons from your misfortunes.
Cheers,
Mark

didn't you get 500 bhp out of it
you won't get that at 1.4 bar
the fact remains that there was 14.25 degrees at anything above 1.87 bar
and you posted earlier IIRC it was at 2.1 bar of boost which is about right for 500 bhp

danny or tony or anybody in the know, how can you prove it was or wasn't the map?
not a dig at all, i genuinely dont know how this would be done
and i am genuinely interested,
i would have thought the engine would need to be rebuilt to the original spec and tested,
as this isn't being done i'm not sure how you can prove(either for or against it being the map)
as i said i'm not stirring this up just genuinely interested

Its very hard to prove but someone independent like stu would be able to look at the chip and work out all the numbers with the said engine spec and know if its close or not..
Stu builds chips over the phone if you can give him an accurate spec..

but i think you may be fighting a loosing battle with that,
as getting all the accurate info and an impartial judge may prove impossible
i dont know anybody involved in this thread so hope it just gets sorted out
good luck with your race with flannigan and thanks for taking the time to reply

Yes your probably right mate..
I will win the race tho for sure!!lol

Well tony last night deleted my post?? Bring back AJ.
The Fact is all cossie maps were modded Ahmed maps he created them.
Next, remember scs slagging a julian godfrey map thru rainbird??? Fpmsl, nothing like moderator/trader power against anyone who isnt. I certainly wouldnt use turbosystems, msd yes karl norris yes mad yes, they dont appear desperate for work!!!!!! Anyone who has the time to post here on a regular basis as a tuner isnt worth using,

Morning guys... I shan't be getting involved any further either way.
I gave my thoughts as requested and asked quite a few questions of my own, all of which were ignored so I will leave it at that.

Glad you like it mate. Great cars, seriously considering that after the M5 as its one of the few fast cars I can get all my wet diving gear in the boot of twice a week.
Mind you... that's if I can stay away from the damned F11 for long enough. I have had beautiful, scantily clad, semi drunken horny women attract me less than that damned thing!

so have we decided that batman caused the engine to fail then?
and, while we are on the sunject, how much is the remap for the rs6 and what does it do? ecomony is probably the thing we'd be looking for as the things rapid enough as it is
cheers

Tbh im not surprised youve said this as your protecting tony !!
I have just copied all runs made on steves car and his boost pressures are wrong but in fairness to him he cant put the cursers on the rpm scale as exact as us..
I have afr graph boost graphs and power graphs..
The duty cycle was taken direct from injector and iv now written a copy chip..
I would really appreciate it stu if you could take the time to check it all for me...
The cr is what tony says at 7.4 so im sure with all that info you can give your honest opinion..
Id stand by my word and pay for steves pistons if you say the map is too blame and i didnt even map this car infact i wasnt even there but i know driving home from a rr session with no vacuum hose on is the main cause of this engine failure!!

Eh? Where did that come from?
Go back, read the topic and my replies and maybe come back with the courtesy of answering my questions then please, instead of ignoring them all and then coming back with some random accusation instead!
Then you have the cheek to ask me for help after ignoring me...

Stu you have do look at that file, its important for all cosworth folk to see the outcome here, Steve stands to win a set of pistons, although if proved it wasnt luke he may want to insert them pistons where they only fit upwards and vertical

I suggest 14 degrees at 4k with 2 bar on that engine is probably a bit optimistic.
- Danny says it didnt have 2 bar.
- Steve says it did.
- Tony asked how it made 500+bhp on 1.4 bar... a valid question
- Danny says the car ran a long way with no fuel pressure multiplication
- Steve says it didnt do that at all.
- The list goes on...
This is all top of my head but those points alone prove its pointless to even waste my time trying to help.

I don't want to get in an Internet argument but I feel I should just post some justified defence. I don’t post on here anymore and won’t be again in the future.
I have sold over 300 of these baffles over the last five years and this is the only one that has ever had a problem.
You will be lucky if there is a litre of oil in the centre section of that baffle. Assuming that oil has a broadly similar specific gravity to water then that will weigh 1000grams. You will be lucky to get a cossie to generate 0.8g on the brakes so we can say 800grams. The panel that has come out has a surface area of 12"square and 800grams is 1.76lbs. So the panel in question will never have pressure on it greater than 0.14psi. As you can see the forces on that panel are tiny.
Three years ago, which is when I sold Rich the baffle, I had a batch fabricated by the same company that laser cuts them as they needed work and I was starting a self build so had no time. The welds on that particular baffle might not have been great but they were still up to the job.
If this baffle did actually fail it was down to Rich’s sump. The same one that caused oil starvation twice. It had been bolted into a sump where the floor was too high. It is designed to fit a millimetre off the floor profile of the stock sump which is why I keep the stock floor in my big wing sumps. As the floor was too high the baffle will have been put under great stress and the sides forced out. If it did fail this stress would have caused it.
When Rich contacted me I offered to replace his damaged parts like for like. I'm not made of money but if this was genuinely my fault I wanted to help. I had sourced a good second hand crank and rods I rang him to tell him this and he rejected it claiming that his last build had a brand new crank and that was all he would accept. I smelt a rat when I discovered this was contrary to what he himself had written on here where he said his crank was not re grindable as it had already been ground a couple of times. He also refused to let me examine the baffle, sump or even crank for some reason. Would you cough up any money without even seeing the failed parts?
It's standard practise to return a failed part to the manufacturer and I offered for my courier to pick them up and leave a receipt.
Let me ask you this, if you were on your fourth engine rebuild in a very short time and had run out of money might you start to get a bit desperate?
As for not answering calls or emails, I have answered all Riches emails and I’m sure he will remember it was me that asked him for his number and rang him. I have never not returned his calls. My last email to him stated that I had it confirmed that the crank that he had installed in his engine had been re ground and was not the brand new item he claimed and that in light of his dishonesty I would certainly not be parting with any funds until I had inspected the baffle (request previously denied). My address was included.
Please note Mods, this is not a “for sale” add but I'm sure you will delete it anyway.

Sounds very much like an engine failure from the fpr vacuum hose being off on steve's car, that would det all 4 pistons. I smell sour grapes that a turbosystems map was used and modded more suited for the engine to me, although i see Stu if that ignition was used as said at 2bar this is not good but i feel the vacuum hose off would cause damage quicker? So i do feel you need to examine that map if if course you get the same one as used!
Eh? Where did that come from?

sorry i wasnt being rude and ignoring your questions mate its just the exact answers will have to be done by luke so if you could please just list the exact stuff you want answering then il make sure luke answers them as id only have to ask him then reply and that just goes wrong...
I didnt mean to accuse you of anything either as i thought you were ignoring what id already stated..
I have seen all the runs for my self now on the dd pc and the boost hit a peak of 2.09 bar at 5.3-5.k 4 but trailed of to just under 2 bar held ..
We have all these runs recorded and they can not be changed
The boost at 4.5 k was .65 bar and 1.4 bar at 5 k so the ignition table as far as i can see is fine..
Anything else you want answered luke can do this for you?
The final graph i can see(because there is loads due to the map being corrected over and over)is 491 hp ...
I would like to see steves graph as to know what final print he got although all the ones iv seen are all the same boost if not lower?
cheers danny
