Default bio-diesel 15% cheaper??

I heard in germany bio diesel is 15 % cheaper than mineral. I think this is brilliant for daily drivers. Anyone run veg in their cars/vans?

Used to run nothing but veg. Used to go the cash and carry buy 60 litres a week when it used to be £10 Quid for a 25 litre drum. I said i had a burger van and changed my oil regularly lol. Old cavvy td lapped it up. Run it now in the works van 50 50 with diesel as our supply is used oil but filtered to 5 microns

nice, i ran my escort 55 on filtered used veg oil ( i work as a chef). ran it 80% veg 20% normal diesel. I thought after a year it would have broken, but ran great.

If you can get the waste oil cheap enough, then knock up your own bio-diesel plant in a garden shed. Then the properly processed bio-diesel (rather than just cleaned veg oil) will run in pretty much any diesel out there so you can buy a newer modern diesel.

Running my van on a blend of SVO and pump diesel at the moment - 2:1 ratio.

£26 gets me 30 litres of our local Asian cash & cary's finest sunflower oil and then just add 15 litres of diesel

500 miles to a full tank in the old Escunt 1.8d is great

Been running it like that since I bought it in October last year - No problems at all - in the very cold weather it struggled to start and cranked a bit longer and once it was running would knock a bit until warm - Got round that by fitting a fuel heater to warm the fuel so the van could be driven normally within a minute of starting

I think this is what i will do. Its just a case of separating the glycerin out of the oil, this makes it alot thinner
