Thumbs up Focus 1.6 TDCi 110?

Who has one or had one on an 06plate. I've been offered a swap of my Focus T190 for a blue 5door on 56plate with just over 60000miles on. It's ex-hire or fleet with no history but owner now bought from a dealer. 2 owners and this lad is 2nd. Clean car in pics and has had alloys added.
How do they handle any extra power thrown at them as I'd be remapping it (approx 140bhp and 220lb/ft). Do they have DPF? Any other issues I should be aware of? Good points and bad?

Cheers lads

Peugeot engines aren't they? An ex-rental with no history that's probably been ragged to death from day one. I'd avoid like the plague personally!

I'm fairly sure that car will have had a bloody hard life since it's only a run of the mill, mid sized, fairly weak engined rental hack... nobody respects them enough to take any real care when driving them.

Cheers,
Grant

my sister has one, 05 plate irrc, no pocket rocket and they are meant to be troublesome but hers carries on regardless.

But a non history car that could be ex rental! run lol!! company car is not so bad, not everyone kills their company car as they have to keep it for a while, and they tend to be serviced reguarly to meet the lease agreement, but everyone kills a hire car!

You can get what history has been logged off the DVLA using the MOT certificate number and reg I believe it is

Might be worth looking into

The banjos have a gauze in the end of then which block up with sludge. When the turbo is replaced on these cars it should also be accompanied by new banjo bolts and new turbo feed pipes and I believe a sump clean out, as the root cause of the turbo failure can be loss of oil supply to the turbo and hence a straight turbo replacement will be followed by a another turbo failure.
I also remember reading somewhere the likely cause of the sludging is an injector seal leaking usually no3, and allowing carbon deposits into the engine thus mixing with the oil

I've asked for details on the car (previous owner details) so I can verify service history and if it was a lease or rental car. Don't think the 06 had the DPF reading into it. Just 08< seemed to. If it has had regular services, looks and drives well then it may be possible as it would probably end up as a stop gap to something powerful again (like the Leon Cupra R a lot) as mine is such a specialised car, the market is so small but more and more people want diesels for the mpg. I've emailed all the usual culprits in the lease/hire market as well as the garage the current owner bought from so we shall see.
