The banjos have a gauze in the end of then which block up with sludge. When the turbo is replaced on these cars it should also be accompanied by new banjo bolts and new turbo feed pipes and I believe a sump clean out, as the root cause of the turbo failure can be loss of oil supply to the turbo and hence a straight turbo replacement will be followed by a another turbo failure.
I also remember reading somewhere the likely cause of the sludging is an injector seal leaking usually no3, and allowing carbon deposits into the engine thus mixing with the oil
