rod's rules are fairly simple to abide by, you need to have a cosworth, with a cosworth yb type of lump fitted, and it's got to be on a runway in the uk
rods done it in his
mark's done it in rod's motor
martin's done it in his escos
dave was the closest in his escos
and andy g was next in line from what i can remember as far as cosworth powered cars go (in his focus with it's sapce framed front end and snow plow)
don't see why everyone is getting their knickers in such a twist about as if martin put a nuclear submarine engine into his it will not be a quicker saph with cossie power than rods, nor will putting that engine into the mondeo make it a quicker cosworth than either the saph or the escos
the thread is about what martin is going to shoe horn into the escos next and how he's gutted the previous engine has gone

Thats an idea. Or a supra engine? You'd need to probable move the bulkhead back, run the car as rwd and have a custom prop, but its been done with a 3door.

Its not heavy enough for a RWD Supra engine, it just won't go in a straight line ever. That Norwegian Focus that pretty much looks like mine has one and its just not drivable

There is some photos of that White s2 with a tranverse yb running silly power through the front wheels so in theory one could be put in the back of a car too.
700 bhp each with another 100 bhp each of sniff would make for a lively drive!
Plus it would still be a genuine cosworth with a yb so rods record could be broken!
In all honesty though, whatever engine is fitted next it's hardly going to be shit!

Heres a genuine suggestion Martin if these guys want to see our battle re-ignited. Fit a V8 & lets chase these boys.
ffs Porsche 223mph, Red Victor 223mph, Viper 215.8mph, Supra 213.8mph are the 4 fastest ever road cars at Brunters/Woodbridge why dont we have a bash at tackling these big boys
.My aim is to pass The Rocket at 209mph & the fastest Scoob at 210.4mph & make that Supra fight for 4th place.
It would be great to see 2 Fords in the Top 5 surely thats possible.
Hows about it bud.

I asked you to keep my car out of Martins thread mate but you have to be a pratt it serves no purpose. Martins car deserves all the respect it can be given. He has been fastest Escort for over 15 years thats incredible.

A Bugatti Veyron engine is basically 2 x Passat W8 engines with 4 turbos. You can pick up passat W8s for buttons. Why not a twin blown W8 engine driving the back wheels?? They are 286bhp out of the box! 2 huge turbos and some work is bound to see around 1000bhp

All this bitching between more "mature" inviduals is pretty pathetic boys, you need to be more like role models to those who haven't done what you have or gone to the same extremes. You're all tuning the same brand of car, let the girly talk go and just give Martin some advice or suggestions towards his next build.

And for what they are, they are pretty compact.
Cant comment on the latest engines. But the early 4.0 versions etc are very boostable with super strong bottom ends.
