As Brammer says that puller is the one to have, when I first did mine(belt) I made one the same as needed it there and then, a lot cheaper than a broken pulley!!
When the pulley is off, if you tap out the woodruff key, use some fine lapping/valve paste between pulley and crank nose it gets rid of any crap and when worked for about 1/2 hour makes it a snug fit rather than stupid tight, my one now comes off with just 2 fingers easily but no play, the way it should have been to start with, just be super sure to wipe off all traces of paste afterwards.

Mine just came off really easy like a cam pulley would - could you not make one for that based on the same principle

or you just want a small set of pullers from machine mart - would you get the lets behind?

So are you after removing the tooth'd pulley behind the crank pulley or the aux pulley? as if you on about them they should just slide off

Small tooth'd pulley is what he means, can you not get a metal ruler or something behind to gently prise it off

you should be able to remove the ttothed pulley relatively easily, i would imagine a good soaking in plus gas or similar will free it, its probably just sticking on the surface rust or woodruff keyway. a tap with a rubber mallet or deadblow hammer should free it off.

Yeah thats the one, tooth'd pulley on the crank, not sliding off. proper stuck!

Had a decent size screwdriver in behind the sealing plate and tried to jimmy it pretty hard, getting worried that i might break the sealing plate.

Soaked it in wd40, gave the end of the crank a tap with a 2 pound hammer and still nothing mate,

I was in machine mart earlier and all the 3 leg'd pullers are too big, even the small ones. Saw this though; wiper arm puller

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...per-arm-puller

might be able to get it down the sides but its not long enough, might try to cut the arms and lenghten them.......

Superaly aka escort700bhp - the nice man building my car says i might need to take the crank out to get thsi thing off.....really dont want to do that just to change the crank seal.

Thought I would let you see how I managed to get off the sprocket.
Went down to machine mart the other day and everything they had wouldn’t fit so I came home had a wee think about it and remembered the only thing that had a chance of fitting down the side was a wiper arm puller, no way near long enough but the widths on all the bits sorted worked. Went down yesterday and bought it, dropped it off at the workshop and they extended them to the size I wanted.

Took it home and got on the grinder to shave all the bits down so they would fit.

Stuck it on and POP it moved, once it started moving it was easy enough to pull off, just the initial bit was a bitch.

Well happy, thought I was going to have a nightmare getting it off! So if you are ever stuck guys hopefully my idea will help.

Sorry I misread the title bit, just make sure you use coppaslip or similar if the space is filled with grease water can't get in and rust in future.
