Default PF plumbers - HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!

Right i have no cold water in my bathroom after draining the tank in the loft and replacing the toilet and removing and refitting the shower.|The tank is now full again and i have water out of the hot tapes so the hot water tank must be full too, but nothing what so ever out of the cold.

I thought air lock but i really thought that with a full tank of water pushing down on it, it would clear plus the valve on the toilet was open from when we started filling the tank so thought it would bleed though as thats the furthest point from the tank.

Any way bit of hose between both tapes on the sink and open the cold tape and then turn the hot on to push water up the cold YEAH ????

Have you turned on ALL the valves you shut off when you drained the tank?

The tank will typically have 2 outlets at low level, normally both with valves on, one for the cold to taps one for cold to the hot water cylinder.

Alternately the cold could be mains fed and not from the tank, have you turned off another stop tap other than the feed to the tank?

Your right there are 2 valves at the bottom, but only one would turn, that's why I had to drain the tank, my first thought was that the valve I turned off had got stuck but it not because that is the one that feeds the hot water cylinder I've followed the pipes down, also bathroom is not mains as we had no water in the bathroom once the tank was empty but still had water in the kitchen sink ( cold only )

st3v3 c

Have done it some more now, got half the toilet system filled up now stop and it was very slow when it was going.

The ball valve on the toilet may have crap behind it washed out of the tank when it filled up.

Depending on the cold tap type that may be full of crap as well.
Strip the ball valve first.

so the water you are forcing in is filling up the cistern?

Keep going until its full, and then a bit more.

Did the stuck valve move at all when you tried to shut it off.?
It maybe the gate in that valve has dropped and closed off the pipe

If the valves are in a horizontal run from the tank bottom can you reach in and poke something down the pipe to see if you can get past where the valves are?

mate can i start again, have i read this correct

you've isolated your cold water and changed your wc ?

when you've tried to turn on your cold water, its not filling the wc or any water from the taps ?

you have water coming thru' your hot taps but no cold water ?

can i ask you some.

what valves did you turn off and where were they ?

is your cold supply to the wc and taps mains fed or tank fed
