Default Bathroom shower waste question.....

Plumbers/Bathroom fitters.....

If the water from the shower waste comes out of the trap and goes down a pipe that is vertical downwards for about 0.3 metre, is that likely to cause a problem?

I am thinking that you might be able to hear the water falling down the pipe, but not sure if that will piss me off or not.

you can hear it as it swirls around the inside of the pipe as it falls, rather than flows like if it was at an angle!!!

I'm just really struggling to think of a way of doing it without having a drop like that. The shower tray is being mounted on a 'floor' that is lower than the rest of the bathroom and to get a 45° pipe though the floor in the right place and make the connections underneath will be a complete bastard!!

I have. It will end up flush with the floor. The tray sits on a special alloy frame that is on feet, which sits on a 'false floor' that is lower than the rest of the floor. Make sense? It's the BOLLOX!!
