Argh me eye!
Fookin thing....
Went to bed last night fine, woke up this morning my eye is totally red all over with what looks like a small cut just at the edge of my iris (the coloured bit!).
Im in Cardiff, my docotor is in Glos so cant see him, no opticians in town can see me, no local doctors can see me, great isnt it! . Fookin sore!
Just got off the phone to NHS direct they want me to go down A&E, bollocks!

No Westy its not.......I had the surgery over 1.5yrs ago now and its definatly not related! I did possibly think the same, like i had maybe dislodged the flap in my sleep, however they were my first fone call!
Called them and they said 100% after 1.5yrs there is no flap left and its propperly healed.
Just me having scratched it in the night somehow I think

I once got a small piece of metal in my eye at work on the ship. Left it for 4 hours before seeing the doctor, and it had put a nasty cut on the cornea... Drops for a month... Best to get it checked out!! Could save your sight!

I got a bit of rust in my eye last year, bloody Fords . Any way left it for a few days because i thought it would get better, it did not so went down to the doctors and they wernt sure so sent me to the eye clinc up the hospital, they found the lump of rust and managed to pull some of it out, but because id left it for the few days the eye had started to heal its self ovet the rust, not good.
Any way after a few trips to the hospital and them using something i can only describe as a mini die grinder to try and dislogde the infected area, it foookin hurt!!
Get it check out sooner rather than latter, your eyes are pretty important mate

Oh yeh forgot that part, i wear glasses, all the time and with out them iam pretty blind.
After having my eye sorted the nurse put a foooookin great big patch on!!
Thats handy as i go to try and put my glasses back on, think the patch stayed on for all of about 10 mins.

Argh
Several hours, 40miles and 4 cans of Coke later......I am back, having achieved fuck all.
Sat in the hospitals eye clinic for ages waiting to be seen, and then the nurse comes over and says "sorry, we wont be able to see you today, your welcome to come back tommorow though and we will try and squeeze you in sometime"
Nice! So im here, still with a cut in my eye, and theres fuck all i can do about it...lol....great innit.....I can see why, those old biddies who need their new NHS bifocals are much more urgent!

if you went to a specific eye clinic you should go to an A&E rather than an eye clinic, if in A&E they cant treat or are unable to diagnose they will send you up to the eye clinic with a referral (if done during the day and is urgent enuff), but you should get it looked at,
