Default 6 speed transit gearbox with 3 bolt flange?

Anyone know were i can get a 2nd hand box from ie: a brakers or anywere?. There a fortune exchange from ford. Ive tried motorman witch is fords spurius parts dealers & had no look, Ive tried local fordparts breakers with no look & varius other brakers with no look. All anyone seems to have is 5 speeds.

Appariently this van is quiet rare its either a y-reg or 51-plate 6 speed with 3 bolt flange... i duno how true this is

Anyone help?

transit boxes are a nightmare to get secondhand, connect boxes they have falling out of their ears but we had to wait 5 weeks for the lease company to source a new box for one of our transits lately

yeah i found that out too its crazy, thers plenty 5 speeds around too but 6 speeds i think are rearer than rocky horse shite.

i could change it to 5 speed but thatd mean new flywheel clutch & stick, the vans hardly worth it imo, but what customer whants customer gets i supose.

cheers nick

I've got a low mileage 6 speed Transit box, but it's in my 10 reg leased Transit I use daily, I'm sure they won't let me sell it..........

Front or rear drive? The 6 speed rear wheel box was only available on the 135 ps vans from about 04 plate onwards.

Try northern transits.

In my experience of fixing vans on a daily basis, they fail on average less than the 5 speeder and have a better/smoother shift than the 5 speed.

Ford feel fit to put them on the back of a 400bhp/400lbft 5 litre V8 in the USA so they can't be that shit a box.

Like wise, not a chance I'd swap my 6 speed for a 5 speed Transit.
