Hmmmm........Can't justify the cost of an Iphone4 But I might get a 3Gs

Wonder how I'll like it compared to my Xda II Orbit I've had for the last 30 months?

Isn't your mobile internet (not WIFI) 750MB not unlimited Stu? Unless it's an upgrade.

You should always save your numbers on your sim card not on the phone.

Use the Nokia Data Suite, sync to windows address book, then do the same from iTunes with the iPhone.

Nope, both WiFi and OTA data is subject a fair usage policy of 750mb each on Orange.

All network providers are cutting data allowances back a bit from what I've heard/read

No, WiFi is unlimited, it's only BT Openzone WiFi that's limited.

Not really helpful on a 4g ipohone seeing as the sim is a different size

I'd ALWAYS recommend keeping contacts in Outlook or a similar contact management client and then just sync them into itunes ( or whatever phone you have )...that way if itunes or your phone fucks up you always have them held separately

Right so you recommend keeping all your contacts on a sim card that you have to take a blade to?

Clearly a safer idea than mine

Looks like mine might need to go back to Apple as I keep getting No sim installed error. Doing a Google search also brings up results of people having the same problem

Thats exactly what I ment but Orange just refer to it as "WiFi" though, if you look at the link....

"Choose from a range of great value plans with inclusive minutes and texts.
Remember, all our plans come with unlimited mobile internet and Wi-Fi*."

Obviously your home WiFi network or any other open WiFi hotspot is 100% free all the time! lol

Wifi is always free. But 3G is limited. Either a 500mb or 750mb or something like that. There's no way unless you are downloading fucking films you will reach it. Like I said, I topped 175mb and I'm always on the net when I can at work and there's no wifi

Home WiFi is unlimited, but according to their small print both data (3G etc) and BT Openzone WiFi (like in McDonalds) is limited.

i see Apple have made somekind of an anoucement about not covering the left bottom corner because it makes the signal weaker.

I want the iphone 4g quite badly as i heard it was coming out back in January (but people on here dint think i knew shite (maybe so lol) )
Ive passed on the 3gs because of this, now it looks like i might have to wait a month or so for this to be sorted by apple.

I for one have not had any problems with this at all and I've used it for calling quite a bit already. I know of another 2 people with the phone and they don't have a problem either.

Apparently the people that are having the problems fixed it by buying the bumpers for the phone anyway!

yeah Steve Jobs replied to an email to him addressing the issue

Non issue. Just avoid holding it in that way.

then sent this follow up email

Gripping any phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.

Yeah only BT Openzone Wifi, because that is not an open hot spot, you have to log in with details provided by Orange rather than the venue.

Apple will not sort it because it's due to them using the steel band around the phone as an antenna (in two parts) for your network signal and WiFi that the problem exists.... they are not going to redesign the phone lol

i do understand how and where the antenna is, but they hardly have to re-design the "whole" phone now do they

Well they would need to find a place for two antenna's in a phone that doesnt have room for any, so pretty much!
It's not like it can be sorted with an update is it? lol
