I was gonna take a wander down to either CPW or the phone stores to get one today, then just couldn't be arsed. Think I'll wait for a) T-Mobile to sort themselves out and offer me a better deal than O2 are (seeing as I've been with T-Mob for over 10 years I hipe they offer me something!) and b) for these first batch of dodgy handsets to filter out!

to have a good look at the version 4 now.I've been with o2 for years now, very happy with prices etc and I'm on the £45 p/month tarriff as I run my own business,do u think I'd qualify for an upgrade?I've had my 3g about 10 months now, couldn't be happier but I can give my phone to the boy then if I can get a new one!!!

But as for the 3G and 3GS being barely any different to the new phone, are you blind? There's a whole HOST of new stuff in the new handset, not only it's unibody design (like their laptops and desktops), along with camera upgrade's and additions (two camera's on IP4), flash, 720p HD video recording, double the RAM, much faster processor, additional mic for noise reduction (think Bose headphones) for a start!
Why? Loads of people paying more than the £45 p/m tariff...

600 quid for a phone that does not have cutting edge hardware?
sorry but that's capitalism / supply and demand taken to the extreme
there really is nothing technically special about the things to make them command that money, only that apple know people WILL pay it

There is a reason why people pay that much. Because THEY believe they're worth it. If I had the dollar, I'd buy one tomorrow - and no amount of tech spec comparing would convince me that there was a better phone out there.
O2 will end any contract early if you pay the cancellation fee - typically £20 for every month left on the contract.
