300cc? no

How old are you?
You've got things like 100cc 2/'s, 100/115cc TKM 2/'s, 125cc rotax's, all quick, single speed ones.
Or you've got 125 and 250cc gearbox karts that are rediculously quick.
Don't bother with 4/ unless you're going 4/ TKM (I wouldn't cos 2/ rules :P)
How much? Alot for a decent one! It's expensive initially to get into.
Where? Karting.co.uk has extensive classifieds and is probably your best bet. Ebay Has bits too.
Do alot of research first mate, to decide what you want. Also if you plan to race, the different classes have different rules on chassis/engines/tyres etc. But a local track will more likely than not host msa club races monthly.
Need any more info just ask, but try and make your questions a bit more specific lol

You want either a 100cc direct drive, a 125 rotax max or a 125 or 250 gearbox Ignore stuff like prokarts, they are slow.

This is mine, a 125cc shifter kart with 38bhp

Faster than that with the correct gearing We are hitting that down the straight at Rye House and that's a short twisty circuit.

I was looking at the bigger race karts, most tracks get decent tkm/rotax grids at msa meets

conor, have you ever raced karts before? Cos if you just jump into a gearbox kart, its quite likely you'll hurt yourself...

Yes, but very expensive.

I take it you go to corperate kart events? If so, these karts are in a different league to those. Learn kart set-up aswell, helps alot!

To be honest mate a Ł500 kart off ebay that's a 100cc will be loads and loads of fun and it'll take lots of abuse Ours cost Ł1900 so it isn't that cheap but we just use it for fucking around

I used to have a 100cc tonikart with a parrila engine and that was superb, our old 125cc easikart cost us Ł700 last April with a trailer and spares so there are good deals out there
