so like many others i went for the sky HD off here the other day....
so they come to install it between 8-1 today turns up at 1:30 throws it in
the outside of the house did look neat... set it up told me as i was a card short for upstairs ( it will be in the post, just ring to make sure ) that i would only get channels 1-5 for the time been fair enough i said
now i should have known when he wheelspun away from the house that something wasn't right....

so off i went to ring sky support, now im not a racist guy but wow when i finally got through to "dave" i just couldn't understand the guys english, so i asked to speak to someone else
anyway put me through to someone who i could just about talk to next thing while im explaining everything im sat looking at the tv only to be greeted with
"THIS CARD IS NOT AUTHORISED"

i then tried to explain AGAIN that i only needed a card for the upstairs room to which point i think he caught on and replied with " oh i see "

sounds like you got off lightly..you should of seen the state of the install in my house..fook me, you would have thought stevie wonder put it in
. i had to re-route the cables again myself after the woman who fitted it tacked it in halfway up my skirting boards for fucks sake..had to fill in the holes after i removed the tacks..she wouldnt route it up the top of the wall, where coving will cover it..and the hole through the wall outside is bound to leak water in at some point cos its not level..the inside is lower than the outside..and dont get me started on the call centre![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)

sky are fucking shit we upgraded to hd and as soon as he fitted it the internet stoped working? they say its a bt fault but when bt come they just unplug the sky put there lap top into the socket were the line comes into the house and say its fine. So u tell sky this and they say its not there fault even though if u un plug the sky box from the wall the internet works fine? there fucking twats so now we have it running without it pluged into the phone line so we carnt use the interactive services

Danneth, I'm sorry to hear you've had troubles in pairing the card to the box, it's normally straight forward. After you receive your card, call up and request for credit to be applied for the loss of viewing.

Had mine fitted yesterday,fella was bang on,coudnt fault him at anypoint,he had 6 more to do after he left our,he spent nearly 2hours on our install and said "he'd rather do a spot on job and cancel the last job of the day,than do a rush job.

i used to fit sky (still do freesat and aerials)
i did a good job but had up to 10-11 a day too, i could bang em in in 20 mins but never left shit in the garden or a mess, always hoovered up and sealed covered holes
if you have ANY problems you need to report, it, thats the only way they get rid of the cretins
i used to work with some right wankers who made every customer angry and made a shit job but nobody went to the trouble of complaining so they are still there doin it as normal
i was shit hot (even if i do say so myself

customer service is also better and free to ring unlike sky...i have had sky HD for over a year and my dad has the new virgin HD..and its far better so yes i have compared.
also with the new virgin you can record 2 channels at once and watch a 3rd.

I worked in sky technical for 4 yr and i can tell you they are shite,if you have a problem with your veiwing do all the reset procedures and evrything they ask,if your stil not satisfied then tell em you want to cancel,9 times out of 10 you will get sorted with something that will make you stay.

I did 90% of the install myself. By the time the engineer came, I had all the cabling in (genuine Sky cable), clipped up, run through the loft and down the wall in my trunking and with all but 2 of the connectors on. All he had to do was plug in, turn on, run the updates and fuck off.
It was 9.00 on Sunday morning and he fucking STUNK of booze. Guess he'd had a skinful the night before and was still pissed.

On a Sunday thats harsh, l am surprised they even came out, to be fair the guy that fitted ours to a brand new house drilled the hole in the wrong fucking place and then moved the dish up a few feet and just put another bolt in the wrong hole only saw it after he left the twat
