Default Dyson DC07 packed up? or has it?

Dont know if anyone else has experienced this or knows whats wrong..............

Basically it was being used for about 10mins then when the hovering was nearly done it just stopped completly, so it was plugged into another socket and it started back up for a few seconds then stopped again, now we cant get it to work at all?

Hoping its just the switch or something?

could be the cable where it goes into the machine. My mum kept pulling the cable that tight when she put it away that the cable broke inside. Easy repair.

Clean out the filters as that could be making it overheat. Leave it for an hour and try again!

Try cleaning the lower filter under the dust compartment, they get clogged up and keep going off on thermal cutout.....

Failing that it sounds like brushes in the motor worn out, i`ve replaced mine twice....

Everyone thinks dysons last forever but they do need regular servicing, just like our cossies

Only the`re a lot more reliable

James Dyson rents half a hangar at my work, which is where he flies out from. In the hangar he's got a private jet, helicopter, and a row of Range Rovers, Ferraris and Maseratis just waiting to go! When his and his wife fly in, they choose whichever car they want and whizz off in a couple of cars.

Jealous? Me? Never

If its the thick sponge one just give it a wash and stick it on top of the radiator for a few hours...... i usually blow mine out with the compressor first (Make sure you do it outside )

Job done

there are a few filters in there, some are tighter than others to get out and osme need replacing yearly or monthly or cleaning ut or whatever to kep them tip top

there are also loads of little bits you can remove by unclipping to clean ou tth ebiger bits of crap

we have a dyson and the motor burnt out, it was 3 years old so thought i would have to buy another but someone told me to call dyson, gave them a ring and they sent someone out (on a sunday!!) who replaced the motor, cable and anything else that looked knackered and it cost me about Ł60, well worth it as a new one was 5 times that and its practically new now and has a fresh guarantee

call them if its stuffed as its a much cheaper deal than buying a new one mate.

Right we used it today after washing the bottom filter and cleaning out under it, and it sounds abit quieter but it ABSOLUTLEY STINKS, its like a plastic burning kinda smell, thats the best way i can describe it, but it works fine and sounds quieter?

I felt underneath and nothing feels hot either?

Its actually a DC04 but i dout that makes a difference.

Also i read on the net that if you take out the bottom filter and its black thats a sign that the motor is on its way out? as above it was very black under the filter

Could be fooked then. Take the brush out the bottom, clean it, unclip everything that unclips and clean it all. I'd be inclined to keep using it until it fucks up, then just replace/repair it. Could just be a lot of shitty going through it now you've cleaned the filters and its running better?

Make sure the belt isnt rubbing or too tight or anything. My mrs was using our hoover the other day, she was using the hose bit and left it running on top of the cable, the spinning brush bit wore straight through the cable, i were fooking fuming!!!

Although not as much as my mrs might have been if she didnt turn it off sooner when she smelt the burning rubber smell

if you haven't let the filter dry out properly it can cause the motor to work harder than normal as it's got to sort the water out as well as the dirt
