Default cossie suddenly it started to jerk?!

Was driving the cossie the other day and suddenly it started to jerk, sounded like its low on fuel. Anyway it then sounded like a subaru impreza, that deep engine sound, its hard to explain. Any ideas???? check all plugs, leads etc but not default found.

Nah it does that all the time now, even when you start the car up from cold. Looked at the dissy cap, which is new but no signs of default. any more suggestions guys?

Try the phase sensor as mechanic28 suggested. If its old the wires go brittle

It is misfiring, most likely caused by a faulty HT lead, check you have a good spark at all plugs.

Right just checked the following, plugs, leads, dissy cap, points and they where fine. However while the engine was running i disconneted the injector one by one and found that cylinder '3' had no impact. The other cylinders were affected but when it came to this one, no response, not doing anything. It must be this right?????

You mean the rotor arm as they do not have points? Have you checked to see if the faulty injector has power by measuring with a meter or by placing a bulb in the connector (sidelight bulb is ideal) you should see a reading of 12V or the bulb will "Pulse" if so this means power is good and injector is faulty.

More than likely it will be a power issue due to the old wiring breaking, remember injectors run 12V CONSTANT not switched.

Correct, make sure it has power going to it or just change 2 injectors around to see if its a injector fault.

Hmmm... no, you're just guessing, and not reading....

If you aren't reading 12volts at any of em, something's up.

And the 'something' won't be fixed by changing one injector.

Or you could just swap the injector with one of the other three to save getting another one.

Is the car 2WD by any chance?

Was you using the injector ground to check or another earth? The live isn't usually the problem it is the ground that breaks.
