Yup went last year, lovely place, very hot, locals very friendly, especially with the women!! Comes in handy when bartering for stuff. Definitely get a day trip / flight out up to Cairo and Luxor (2 seperate trips, around Ł180 per trip). Made the 2 weeks for me. Also deli belly is almost certain but DONT buy or take any immodium or similar from here, it wont work. ALWAYS buy it at the pharmacy in the hotel, within 24hours you'll be fine. Was weary when people advised this but I can guarantee its 100% true!!

All in all had a superb time, if you only do one trip Luxor is better than Cairo, pyramids aint all that unfortunately.

Yeah, I've been there 4 times and will go back again at some point in the future. Make sure you get a good quality hotel. The diving there is fantastic! Oh and it gets proper hot!

You might not have experienced heat quite like it. I went to Luxor in June and it was 110+ deg F.

Have a camel ride (a ride on a camel, not a camel toe ride ) - they're weird buggers!

The heat is so dry though - not like Zante.

You'll have a great time I'm sure.

i went earlier this year, went to sharm, was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. took the trip to cairo, was amazing, not exactly where you expect to see the pyramids etc, there is a burger king 2 mins walk from the sphnyx lol.

something id def recommend is quad biking, cost around Ł40 but was for the whole day. went into the desert, had a great day out. also visited the mangroves as part of the trip.

as said above though if you go into the main town, forget the name of it,...dont go down any back streets as they harrass the fuck out of you, really can ruin a good day
