Just heard on the news that tourists have been bombed in Egypt, why

Bin Laden says the west is against muslims, how come that despite a few integration problems...
-we allow muslims to build mosques in western europe (and in the states)
-allow muslims to follow their religion and beliefs as they see fit.

Yet, Egypt, like many other muslim countries, now rely heavily on tourism to sustain the local economy.

It is about time the non-extremist muslims got rid of the extremists who are making a bad name for them.

PS: I was against the war in Irak.

We went to Dahab 3 or 4 years ago. It's not a huge place, which is quite scary.

We also went to Taba more recently, again very close to the bombings there!

Makes you wonder if/when it will end.

MrsFrog was just on the bring of booking a week away in Marsa Alam, it's further south so "should" be safer... To say it's put a dampener on things is an understatement...

Marsa Alam would most probably be our next choice of Red Sea holiday. We wouldn't let this put us off. OK, so it is a bit of a worry, but stay in a decent hotel and you'll have done what you can.

After all, imagine aborting your Red Sea holiday and opting for a 'safe' week in London and getting caught up in troubles there.

T'was worrying last night. The girlfriends Brother (and his missus) are holidaying right there as we type! we got through to them and they are ok.. they did a day trip to Dahab earlier that day aswell!

Well as far as I am concerned I still want to go. We all have to go one day or the other, and whatever we do, it will happen. And as Christian said, could also happen in London so....
