I'm going to northern egypt in summer but i've led a very sheltered upbringing and haven't really travelled much
Consequently my stomach has never experienced all that foreign e-coli out there and i've never had a chance to build up a defence.
SO....., what are the the chances of me being ill in egypt? Lot of ppl have said i'll be fine if i'm careful with water, ice, fruit etc. But others have said i'll almost def get stomach upset at some point.
Any advice?
cheers

ok... what you need is..
a good supply of evervesant 1000mg vitC tablets one every day!!! is a must.
you may want to take a paket of imodium just incase.
i spend most of my time all over the world with my job.. vit c tablets keep most things away.
you will be fine. try to steer clear of street food.. but if you feel the need then go for it..

Eat the local food, don't bother with tablets, get the shits, get over it, next time you go you'll be fine, you'll have the resistance.
Not a proper holiday if you don't get the shits from over indulgence

Depends where you are staying and who you are travelling with. Most hotels are all inclusive and of a very high standard so you wont have any problems.
Egypt isnt really the sort of place you go out for a walk to sample the local restaurants etc.... the hotels tend to be fairly self contained with plenty to keep you entertained on site.
I really dont see it being a problem unless you are back packing it lol
I didnt have a problem and I ate fish and fruit almost every day due to not eating meat or spicy food. Their fish is fantasic btw, highly recommended.
Have a fab time, its a beautiful country.

Imodium plus just incase
Bottled water only for drinking: Tap water should be ok for brushing teeth, but don't drink it.
Don't eat locally made ice cream (Walls magnums, etc are ok: imported genuine stuff) sea-food, salad and no ice-cubes in drinks.
You should be ok with that.
