Hi Pete, Yes, yours is the one I'm getting. Called A1 Rally Spares today and the guys there stated they were very impressed with it.

Not sure of your engine spec, compared to mine, but basically what have you got, and did you have any probs with the T38..... Surge Issues, Climbing Boost, Etc.

Think by the length of this thread you''ve probably got my spec to compare it with yours....

Phil : Is that an "impressed" comment or a "not impressed" comment.

Appreciate it's not a T38 as in a Turbotechnics T38, but that isn't to say it's any better or worse. and who and why did Turbotechnics come up with the designation "T38".

Turbo Names mean very little today, it's better to ask the technical description, and components used, there are so many turbos out there at the moment that are all combinations of various components, so does it really matter what it's called.........

The actual designation given to Universal Turbos T38 is in fact "T04E50".......... but you can call it whatever you want, and at the moment it's comonly refered too as a "Universal Turbo's T38".

Jim......you PM'ed me saying you had bought the same turbo as mine...if so it is NOT a T38 it is a modified T34 (no T4 front end)....but it IS a very good turbo ....Will make 450bhp IMO...BUT if you read my earlier comment...it spins up around 300rpm quicker than the T4 on mine i hit full boost at 4000rpm but it dont drop off...AWESOME turbo with no surge even with a 2.4bar spike

NO PROBS at all no surge issues unlike kelcos who put one on his car and took it off(T38) not our (T38)

But yes its good a lot better than t34 i think which i took off i cant comment on T4 as iv never had one on my own car

Its got power all the way up the revs now and pulls like a train

I went to the performance ford thrash and i have run quicker than i have ever done with t34

BHP i could only guess as iv never put it on the rollers
and i dont to say to much as you know what its like on here

Not that i clocked up many miles with my T38 but i wish i had done a bit more enquiring before buying mine, it did prove to be a bit of a waste of money for me

Petes variant of the T38 would have suited me and my driving alot better and i know pete cant fault his in anyway and when the time comes i dare say ill go that route aswell!

Phil, That's the one...... Exactly the same as yours and Pete 4 x 4's, so hoping for a good low lag engine.
